#34fan Posted October 6, 2014 Posted October 6, 2014 (edited) I absolutely HATE your offense bro... Not doubting you know tons about X's and O's, but sometimes it appears that you have NO CLUE how to put it all together... Shouldn't a good offense be able to create mismatches, and misdirections for opponents? Why does our offense seem to rely 100% on the speed of it's players? It's like a foot-race from the coin toss, and if we're not the fastest, we barely score..... Where's the trickeration? -Where's the GOTCHA!? We have depth and talent at the RB position, but you insist of pounding the hell out of the same two backs! -News flash, Boobie Dixon is a PUNISHING runner, as well as a sure-handed receiver... Why doesn't he get used more??? You are ridiculously predictable... You'll bring in Boobie or Tank on an OBVIOUS SITUATION, like 3rd and goal... The opponent will stack the box, and we won't score. Your claim to fame is having a daddy who coached Montana, but what have YOU done? Besides take a sorry college team, and improve it to mediocre? Where's your imagination? -What do YOU bring to this game? Here's what you SHOULD do going forward... Practice multiple TE sets to help out your immobile QB... The best QB's in the business rely on the high-percentage completions that a solid TE can deliver. Peyton... Romo...Brady.. Solid TE play facilitates the success of their offense... Multi TE sets also create mismatches that are hard for secondaries to react to in time...Screens with Boobie Dixon are a good idea too... With a full head of steam, he's a daunting task to bring down.. Bottom line... Don't squander Orton's experience, CJ's speed, and Sammy's atleticism by doing things the same way as the past year and a half... Pull out the stops.... By the end of next week this team can have a different future. Edited October 6, 2014 by #34fan
sodbuster Posted October 6, 2014 Posted October 6, 2014 The O was responsible for scoring 17 points, while also contributing 7 to the Lions. Pitiful. I totally agree with your points on Dixon. That guy knows how to run downhill.

The fact that you think playing 2 or more of our TE's will create favorable mismatches discredits your whole post.

I think every starting LB in the NFL can run faster and has better hands than Lee Smith. I think that's a mismatch in favor of the defense. I absolutely HATE your offense bro... Dragonborn10 Posted October 6, 2014 Posted October 6, 2014 The line is awful. Trick plays usually require time to develop. That is a recipe for disaster. The TE's are truly awful. Almost every team in the league is running out of the spread. Just think if a team lined up with a FB and two TE's. The Bills would counter with their best run stopping LB in Spikes. The spread forces the defense to use smaller guys. If the line was better and CJ could see a hole they would be able to run just fine. Marshawn runs just fine out of the pistol and shot gun.
Wayne Cubed Posted October 6, 2014 Posted October 6, 2014 Funny, last week people were complaining that Hackett got away from the run and passed too much. So he sticks with the run this week and it's he's not "creative enough" with his runs. It couldn't possibly be that the OL is just not run blocking good enough and the Bills happen to be playing a very, very good DL? Or maybe the RB's just aren't executing? Or that the Bills are really weak at the TE position? Was it a pretty win? No. But the Bills won, bro.
mitchmurraydowntown Posted October 6, 2014 Posted October 6, 2014 Hey Bro, we're not going win it all this week but man we might get better. Thx for thinking man, you're the best third person I'm talking too. Cool Dude, it's all good.

Chandler looks like he has concrete blocks on his feet and he goes down immediately every time he is hit. Hard to create mismatches with a guy like that. He is being used exactly to suit his limited skill set. We still need a TE that can run after the catch. The team won and yes they "only" scored 17 points, but it was against the number one defense in the NFL. They WON the game. Relax and enjoy it, because I believe there are more W's in store with Orton at the helm instead of E.J.
Mark80 Posted October 6, 2014 Posted October 6, 2014 Dude can't even enjoy a win for 12 hours. What a joke of a poster.

BuffaloBillsForever Posted October 6, 2014 Posted October 6, 2014 Nate Hackett's offensive scheme sucks and the grass is green and the sky is blue.
87168 Posted October 6, 2014 Posted October 6, 2014 usually when you give some one a "shout out" it's to give them props, or recognition. enjoy the week.

How the hell he keeps trying to pound Spiller up the middle is ridiculous...yesterday's gameplan should have featured more Jax & Dixon, IMO. Spiller should have been used on misdirections and as a decoy, if not used on wheel routes against the linebackers.
BillsFan-4-Ever Posted October 6, 2014 Posted October 6, 2014 I absolutely HATE your offense bro... I agree. Oh and as the announcers said once or twice it/s Nathanial not Nate
FLFan Posted October 6, 2014 Posted October 6, 2014 The title tricked me into reading this useless post. Back to enjoying a win based on dominating defense, timely offense, and superior depth of talent across the board by the Bills.

While I'm far from a Hackett apologist, I wonder how much the deficiencies of the OL effect Hackett's play-calling. Does he call low-reward plays over and over because they're also low risk? Does he want to call better run plays but doesn't believe the OL can execute? I'm just playing devil's advocate. We didn't have a great OL under Gailey yet Gailey's offense created run lanes for the backs. I agree. Oh and as the announcers said once or twice it/s Nathanial not Nate I believe I've heard Marrone use both.
5 Wide Posted October 6, 2014 Posted October 6, 2014 I just don't believe in the jumbo formations Hackett constantly uses in the running game. That's a lot of bodies near the LOS to maneuver around - D-linemen, linebackers, safeties and our own offensive personnell. Hackett just doesn't seem to believe in running out of the spread.
C.Biscuit97 Posted October 6, 2014 Posted October 6, 2014 Dude can't even enjoy a win for 12 hours. What a joke of a poster. Normally, I agree but our goals should be higher this year. This team should be a playoff team. We have very real problems on offense. It's not good enough. We constantly throw passes short of the marker on 3rd down. He has not been able to get Spiller in space. It's a long season but I think Marrone's loyalty to Hackett is going to hurt us. We scored one offensive td yesterday. That's asking a ton from our defense. Does anyone not think a guy like Norv Turner couldn't get more out of our offense? It's needs to be much better and if we don't make the playoffs, they will be the main reason.

Not entirely sure what game you were watching.... but the Bills only ran 22 times for 49 yards at Detroit. The average rush was 2.2 yards per carry. Spiller had 10 rushes for 8 yards, and kept getting tackled behind the line of scrimmage. CJ has trouble breaking three tackles and making yards after contact like Freddy does, so obviously he sucks according to many here. Then Orton threw 43 times, which is just about the exact same numbers from the week before at the Texans. Stating that the O line simply sucks is a gross understatement, and laying the blame on the two rookies starting is not entirely justified either. RG Erik Pears is a downright joke, and shouldn't even be on the field. The Bills O line sucks big time, as do their TE's. The play calling, and scheme also suck. Kyle Orton was calling audibles and changing plays that kept things working. That said, Nate Hackett is a JV OC, and should be replaced.
