LabattBlue Posted January 29, 2005 Posted January 29, 2005 Instead of having two weeks off at Easter, most schools in WNY have recently changed to one week off at Easter and the other week off, being the week that includes Presidents day. I was just curious how common this is across the country?
cåblelady Posted January 29, 2005 Posted January 29, 2005 Our kids (Southern Tier) have had a week off in February as long as I can remember. They only get 1 week for spring break.
Draconator Posted January 30, 2005 Posted January 30, 2005 My stepson who's in 5th grade gets a week for President's Day, and a week at Easter. (Bay Area, California).
TigerJ Posted January 30, 2005 Posted January 30, 2005 Chautauqua Lake Central School is having a 2 week spring break in mid April. There is no week in February and not easter vacation at all (one day for good Friday). This is mostly a concession to teachers who wanted two weeks at once and wanted it late enough to have a chance for decent weather. As a church pastor, I'm actually pretty happy with the fact that there is no Easter vacation. It means more families will be home for Easter services.
