Buffalo Barbarian Posted October 5, 2014 Posted October 5, 2014 Well done guys! This game is on you! Whoa, slow your stroll bro. Although I hope they turn out to be the greatest of all time. Team victory today against a tough team on the road. The offensive line is really the only unit that played poorly. and Spiller, he is wearing me out as much as ej

Buffalo Barbarian Posted October 5, 2014 Posted October 5, 2014 My brother had to remind me that Jesus was a Carpenter. I thought Marrone should have benched Spiller after the botched pass protection in the red zone. That was some weak effort right there
purple haze Posted October 5, 2014 Posted October 5, 2014 We dodged a bullet with the missed FG's but it is so sweet to be on the other end for a change! Yeah, but Bills missed a FG and gave up a pick 6. So Bills gave away 10 points. The Lions 9. It all evens out.
#34fan Posted October 5, 2014 Posted October 5, 2014 Absolutely agree... While Orton did'nt play a terrible game, he still owes the Schwartz and Dan Carpenter a beer...
SmokinES3 Posted October 5, 2014 Posted October 5, 2014 Good think we didn't cut him like Jerry Sullivan suggested. He can be the best DT in the NFL if he wants to be. Agreed, idk if it was Pepper or whoever but someone lit a fire under his ass today. The cut talk was always nonsense.
Dorkington Posted October 5, 2014 Posted October 5, 2014 Whoa, slow your stroll bro. Although I hope they turn out to be the greatest of all time. and Spiller, he is wearing me out as much as ej Spiller is only effective with decent blocking. FredEX works still, because he's basically converted into a power back as he's gotten older. He gets hit at the line, or +1-3 yards, then takes a defender for a couple yard ride. CJ, gets hit at the line, and it's basically over. He really is a situational player, I wish we would use him more as such.
Buffalo Barbarian Posted October 5, 2014 Posted October 5, 2014 I am loving me some Jim Schwartz. He might have said this week that the revenge thing was overplayed but his reactions today told the truth. What I liked is in previous years after the long Tate catch and run the Bills D would have given up and let them get another 8-15 yards to make the kick much easier. Today they played those 3 downs so hard, nearly picked Stafford off and kept him them to a 1 yard gain and the kicker missed. This defense is legit. I just hope the offense does not let them down. I think having him this year is huge plus against the NFC North Spiller is only effective with decent blocking. Rockinon Posted October 5, 2014 Posted October 5, 2014 We score one td. Screw yards, I want points. And it's hilarious how people freaked out about losing Pettine. Our D is absolutely loaded with talent. Still early but Schwartz > Pettine. Very happy for him. The defense won us that game. The TD and the 2pt conversion were huge. Going up against the #1 defense, I'd say not too shabby. Orton gets some more reps with the 1's and he could do some damage. And yes, the D should be recognized for their effort. I think they played better than the Detroit defense. May even move up in front of Detroit. Can the Bills have the #1 defense?
26CornerBlitz Posted October 5, 2014 Posted October 5, 2014 What does GOAT mean? Greatest of All Time.
BuffaloBillsForever Posted October 5, 2014 Author Posted October 5, 2014 What does GOAT mean? Greatest of all-time. Carpenter already had the best season as a Bills kicker in 2013 and is performing to that expectation this year and well Jim Schwartz and the Bills defense...you get my point.
The Dean Posted October 5, 2014 Posted October 5, 2014 Carpenter's winner: http://www.nfl.com/v...inning-FG Boom!!! Indeed. We out-kicked them. Thank God their kicker sucks. I'll be surprised if he is on their roster next week. The officiating this week was horrendous. Fortunately the Bill survived it.
Formerly Allan in MD Posted October 5, 2014 Posted October 5, 2014 Team victory today against a tough team on the road. The offensive line is really the only unit that played poorly. With two rookie starters against the Lions, they weren't that bad. They held their own when it counted. More starts, more experience.
metzelaars_lives Posted October 5, 2014 Posted October 5, 2014 (edited) Not feeling GOAT as an acronym. Little bit of a stretch. Edited October 5, 2014 by metzelaars_lives
GunnerBill Posted October 5, 2014 Posted October 5, 2014 I think having him this year is huge plus against the NFC North Amen Yea. Fair point. Other than the first half against the Chargers (and seriously how well is Rivers playing - he is shredding everyone) the defense has looked solid all year. I just think that for once we genuinely did get a top notch co-ordinator. Pettine did a great job turning this defense round, no doubt, but Schwartz is kicking it on to another level.

Definitely I was a big Pettine fan but we are playing a more sound style than all the bells whistles we had last yr.

I will say that, looking at how Pettine has done on his own, and seeing how Schwartz has done with a defense that had outsiders screaming because he was going to be without Byrd and Kiko...and had made one hell of a unit 5 games in. Even in the games we've lost, defensive points allowed has been shockingly low, just how I like it.
