I would love to discuss what teams will be taking QBs and who may fall to us in the 2nd. I don't know much about the class coming up other than the top couple guys.....

The whole point is to discuss who MAY be there....

H2o Posted September 29, 2014 Posted September 29, 2014 The QB group isn't really that strong this year outside of Mariotta. He looks like an NFL QB to me, but the rest are a bit suspect. I don't want Winston. The character issues he has now will only intensify when you add millions to the equation. Cook from MSU looks like he might make it, but I'm not sure. Sean Mannion is a big guy who has a good arm, but his numbers are likely inflated from the offense they run. Petty is inconsistent already at the college level and is running a spread system. Not sure how he would look playing from under Center. Hundley might not even leave school again and he's more of an athlete than a pure QB. You never know which Kevin Hogan is gonna show up for Stanford, wildly inconsistent at times. Connor Halliday is another possibility as he showed well on the big stage against Oregon. Maybe Jacoby Brissett from NC State, but he might not leave college either. There's really no one else that stands out to me from this group that will be the 2015 draft class. There is no one that that seems like a sure bet and the closest thing to it is Mariotta. He will go #1 more than likely.

FutureBillsGM Posted September 29, 2014 Posted September 29, 2014 Shane Carden from ECU is awesome. Super quick release, great with his reads. He may sneak into the first though by the time all is said and done.
SBUffalo Posted September 29, 2014 Posted September 29, 2014 This year's class is actually very strong. Not great, but strong. Mariota, Winston, Hogan, Cook, Petty and Mannion. Mannion has been bad so far, but the others have played very well.

Now here is a productive thread! I'm not being facetious! The time for thinking about who the next "real" QB for the Bills will be is NOW. It's not going to be EJ or Orton beyond this year. We know that. So who else is available? This is a good question to ask.

I'd rather they not draft any QBd until they figure out what they are going to do to change their selection process. They couldn't have spent any more time arriving at their EJM conclusion. They obviously need to revisit the formula.

This is a good question to ask. Doesnt Orton have a second year guar 5 million player option.... don't think hes walking away from that. If he plays well hes the starter next season too then back to the hunt in '16.
