Dragonborn10 Posted October 3, 2014 Posted October 3, 2014 Wow...Byrd was one of my favorites here. At least he can rehab withtons of money... Saints are going to really struggle to get in playoffs
Miyagi-Do Karate Posted October 3, 2014 Posted October 3, 2014 Seems like, with few exceptions, guys that leave here are cursed. That said, he is looking smarter for getting that long term deal than playing under another tag.
Doc Posted October 3, 2014 Posted October 3, 2014 As I said in the other thread, this is a freak injury so we can't sit here and say "we told you so." But I said it before and I'll say it again: not re-signing him was a great move, just like it was in Levitre's case.
PromoTheRobot Posted October 3, 2014 Posted October 3, 2014 As I said in the other thread, this is a freak injury so we can't sit here and say "we told you so." But people will still point to Byrd and Levitre as examples of Bills letting good players walk. Ask the Saints how they feel?
jimmy10 Posted October 3, 2014 Posted October 3, 2014 Damn. Good for him for getting paid. With how weak the NFLPA is compared to other athletes unions, I never hold it against these guys when they ask for big money. So few of them ever even get a shot at a big contract, and so much of it isn't guaranteed anyway. Get well, Jairus!

We are still suffering from poor play at LG.
Gugny Posted October 3, 2014 Posted October 3, 2014 There's this ... http://forums.twobillsdrive.com/topic/171441-j-byrd-2014/

The Fredonia Curse Posted October 3, 2014 Posted October 3, 2014 Well, I guess there's gonna be a lot of long TD runs against the Saints now. Jairus won't be there to make the tackle 15 yards after the LOS anymore. Fantasy gurus take note.
Snorom Posted October 3, 2014 Posted October 3, 2014 the 1-3 Saints can enjoy their salary cap hell in 2015.
BrycePaup4ever Posted October 3, 2014 Posted October 3, 2014 lol great news! We dont miss you Jairus. Well I dont miss you that is.
ExiledInIllinois Posted October 3, 2014 Posted October 3, 2014 Does this mean the Saints will start winning now?
Peter Posted October 3, 2014 Posted October 3, 2014 I also do not with him ill either. Karma is a B word though. I have read reports that $26 million of the $54 million is guaranteed. http://www.spotrac.com/nfl/new-orleans-saints/jairus-byrd/ If that is the case, he should be more than ok financially regardless of what happens. As for New Orleans, many thought they were taking on too much of a hit on the cap from the get go. I presume he will be ok, but if for some reason, the injury negatively impacts his career or abilities, it is going to be a tough contract to swallow.
