PromoTheRobot Posted October 1, 2014 Posted October 1, 2014 The thing is... this team does not need miracles. A guy who could simply get the ball to Woods and Watkins when they are open by 10 yards and there is no pressure would have done wonders. We aren't asking for Manning type production. I think you underestimate what it means to just get the ball to someone in the NFL. But I do think Orton can do it better than EJ right now.

This is very true!
TheFunPolice Posted October 1, 2014 Posted October 1, 2014 I think you underestimate what it means to just get the ball to someone in the NFL. But I do think Orton can do it better than EJ right now. Well, it's not like it's easy, or the parade of awful QBs the Bills have had for what seems like forever would have been able to do it!
metzelaars_lives Posted October 1, 2014 Posted October 1, 2014 He's got a pornstache. This is going to be a disaster folks. We now have an immobile mercenary back there. It's actually possible that he might look worse than a newbie with accuracy issue. 2 things: 1. I'm not sure it is possible that he can look WORSE than Manuel the last two games. And 2. Accuracy is/was one of many of the newbie you are alluding to's issues.
TheFunPolice Posted October 1, 2014 Posted October 1, 2014 Watkins and Woods are getting open... in fact there are open guys all over the place and EJ was not seeing them or was sailing passes 10 feet over their heads. All we need is competence. Just that and this team has an EXCELLENT chance to win the division.
Peter Posted October 1, 2014 Posted October 1, 2014 Doors shirt! How can you not like a Doors fan. No eternal reward will forgive us now for wasting the dawn.
Storm Front Posted October 1, 2014 Posted October 1, 2014 The dude seems like a cool guy who we could all go have some beers with.
Bills Fan since '64 Posted October 1, 2014 Posted October 1, 2014 I feel like the Detroit game is gonna be a combination of the Matt Leinhart/Jordan Palmer preseason disasters. You've forgotten the Brian Brohm regular season disaster
reddogblitz Posted October 1, 2014 Posted October 1, 2014 (edited) I feel like the Detroit game is gonna be a combination of the Matt Leinhart/Jordan Palmer preseason disasters. I don't. The 4th pre season game when Leinhart and Palmer were playing is all scrubs. This game will be with the starters and Kyle is a way better QB than either one of those clowns. Leinhartand Palmer also only had a few days. Kyles been there with us for over a month and has actually been able to practice with the team. I expect to see Kyle play a good game and the Bills to win. Edited October 1, 2014 by reddogblitz
Buffalo Barbarian Posted October 1, 2014 Posted October 1, 2014 Looks like Orton can score proficiently EJ probably couldn't pass a drink from his hand to his mouth without over or under throwing it. ... i'm picturing this now ... Can you blame him? He has been shafted by every team and fan base he has played for why create relationships only to have them ruined. However, if he plays well he have the crowd and team behind him. Also, he may have been watching how much better he was than EJ and thinking "Here we go again, I am better than this guy and because he was a 'first round pick' they are playing him?!" How disheartening does that have to be? Wonder what he would think if we brought Tebow in now You've forgotten the Brian Brohm regular season disaster dude, you are ruining the vibe
bladiebla Posted October 1, 2014 Posted October 1, 2014 I think Kyle Orton might be my favorite football player after reading this thread. I know right! Hope he plays ball like he parties!
Buffalo Barbarian Posted October 1, 2014 Posted October 1, 2014 I know right! Hope he plays ball like he parties! Championship!!!
John Adams Posted October 1, 2014 Posted October 1, 2014 Looks like the way to get Kyle down field fast is to put a bottle of Jack on the goal line. He just leapt up 10fold in my mind.
Pirate Angel Posted October 1, 2014 Posted October 1, 2014 Win or Loose, we Drink the Booze- Kyle Orton, pregame pep talk
BobChalmers Posted October 1, 2014 Posted October 1, 2014 the chemistry will be A-ok if he throws the ball accurately to the WRs. They want wins and stats. Beyond that, it's pretty clear the WR's just want some on target throws on individual plays when they are open. Wins and stats will follow.
filthymcnasty08 Posted October 1, 2014 Posted October 1, 2014 I love the ones with the big n ugly Chitown girls…. Orton don't give a !@#$. Drinking Jack and Playing Quarterback <------T-shirt idea right there.
beerme1 Posted October 1, 2014 Posted October 1, 2014 He said it best, "this is the team for me." This is great! I'd say gold but that would be Johnny Walker.
CSBill Posted October 1, 2014 Posted October 1, 2014 I know someone that is part of the media that goes to the practices and into the locker room when allowed. He said that from what hes seen in the parts of practices hes allowed to watch (which admittedly isnt much) it is very clear Orton is a better thrower of the football than Manuel. He said the ball is crisply thrown and much more accurate most of the time. That being said he always said that he is pretty disengaged from team camaraderie in the locker room. He doesnt talk to anyone, including the media and mainly keeps to himself as much as possible. From what I gathered I think were in better hands when it comes to talent but my worry is about chemistry. If he is not engaged in being a part of the team maybe he will struggle getting on the same page as the offense than if he had been actively trying to be a part of the team and ultimately win the starting job at some point. We will see on Sunday. I think he is a competitor and now that his number is called he will be ready to play as best as he can. Well, everyone says EJ is well liked . . . If Orton can throw it on target and not put it in locations where his receivers are constantly in fear of the heads getting knocked off, he will become a locker room hero in no time . . . with or without the bottles of Jack Daniels
judman Posted October 1, 2014 Posted October 1, 2014 I hear KO has always referred to game time as "happy hour."
