They were actually good in 1980, but sucked for years after that. It wasn't gratifying. Don't know if you were around for the 1963 to 66 years. I was. We've had about 20 decent years out of 50. I'll take 9-7 in a heartbeat! Teams have won SB's with record that or worse. We have a decent shot at the playoffs and I am excited for t.

It could be 10-6 if Orton is capable against Lions. But what if he's worse than EJ? What if he's even worse than Tom Brady?!

Orton would have been killed. Nonsensical. That would have lost us the game? EJ over/underthrew like 10 passes. Applying your same logic train I assess Orton would have completed 7-8 of those, leading us to a 14 pt victory...
Ted William's frozen head Posted September 30, 2014 Posted September 30, 2014 Now that our worst fears have been realized and EJ has been dispatched to the bench in favor of journeymen backup Kyle (David Grohl) Orton - I have sobered from my KoolAide stupor and am changing my initial projection of 13-3 (that's right...), to 5-11. We were going to wind up 3-13 with EJ, so the only place we can go from here is up. Orton won't be a long term answer, but he sure will be an upgrade.

In the end, the front office and staff went all in on EJ and trading up for Sammy and they have crapped out. Sadly, I have every expectation the staff will be gutted this offseason and the rebuild to begin yet again. I don't understand the fan excitement as this move is an indication our team has yet again failed...miserably when you compound the lost draft picks. Jesus you thought we were winning 13 games with EJ at QB? Over what....2-3 seasons?

Orton would have been killed. Orton most likely reads the defense pre snap and adjusted the blocking or changes the play and finds the hot WR and delivers the ball within 2 seconds. What escapeability EJ can do with his legs, I believe Orton can do with his brain pre snap. So no I don't think Orton would have been killed.
