qdawg in philly Posted October 3, 2014 Posted October 3, 2014 Marrone has to do something about Eric Pears or it's not going to matter what QB and weapons the Bills have. Urbick never played as rotten as Pears has at RG. Do something Doug! you said it and I'm thinking it. Agree with you 100% 26!!

26CornerBlitz Posted October 3, 2014 Author Posted October 3, 2014 CAPACCIO: Bills Gameplan: How to Attack the Lions The Lions are 3-1. They are a very good team with tons of talent. Not a lot of places to attack. The Bills certainly have their hands full Sunday. So, I went back and looked at the games where, so far this year, they were beaten in a particular area by their opponent, and also looked at the numbers on both sides of the ball. Here’s what I found:
26CornerBlitz Posted October 3, 2014 Author Posted October 3, 2014 W2W4: Bills at Lions The Buffalo Bills (2-2) look to snap a two-game losing streak when they travel to face the Detroit Lions (3-1) on Sunday.
26CornerBlitz Posted October 4, 2014 Author Posted October 4, 2014 Stafford on pace for career-high sacks, but says his line is fine Lions quarterback Matthew Stafford is getting sacked a lot more than he’s used to. But he’s OK with that. Know the enemy: Lions on Buffalo DE Mario Williams The Detroit Lions understand Jim Schwartz's defensive scheme. There's no doubt about that as the former Lions head coach returns to Detroit as the Buffalo Bills' defensive coordinator. Personnel, though, is like every other week. Like he did in Detroit, Schwartz has a defensive line built to fluster and harass opposing offenses. One of the biggest leaders off that defensive line is former No. 1 overall pick Mario Williams.

26CornerBlitz Posted October 4, 2014 Author Posted October 4, 2014 Strong defensive units likely to steer game's outcome Both clubs will be fielding some stout defensive fronts as the two clubs have arguably the two best defensive lines in the league.

Rockinon Posted October 4, 2014 Posted October 4, 2014 (edited) Thus far the accountability has been sound. The Bills’ defense is second in the NFL in yards per carry allowed, third in rushing yards allowed per game, fifth in third down defense and eighth in points allowed. Just read this in the Chris Brown piece "No weak links allowed on defense". Can you imagine how good the defense would be rated if they actually had an offense that was staying on the field long enough to put up 7pts regularly? All of the news about the Lions defense has me thinking that the Bills defense is somewhat overlooked. You can bet this unit is going to be bringing some heat tomorrow. Was just noticing also that the Bills are not the only team with offensive line problems. The Lions are allowing a lot of sacks and they are banged up at some key positions too. This game is winnable. Won't be easy going on the road to get it, but the D isn't going down without a fight. Now all we need is some offense. This could be a game that comes down to field position and special teams. Edited October 4, 2014 by Rockinon
Formerly Allan in MD Posted October 4, 2014 Posted October 4, 2014 Let's hope Schwartz is working as much with the Bills offense, prepping them on what they'll be seeing on defense, as his is with his own defense.

FLFan Posted October 4, 2014 Posted October 4, 2014 The secondary is going to have to play better than they have so far. They have been beaten deep and Stafford has a cannon for an arm. Possibly a break if Johnson is not fully himself. If they can keep the Detroit receivers in front of them and avoid the bombs, they have a good chance of staying with the Lions and winning the game. No fast scores - make them earn it.
