Chandler#81
Many of us believe we have the most talented & skilled team this century. Not all of us, but many. With a 2-2 record, we're tied for 1st in a crappy Division. 7-9, 8-8 could win the title. Are we a .500 team with a vet QB 'managing' the position? I say YES! It seems very apparent we'll be playing meaningful games in December. I'm pinching myself that we should win our season finale AT New England with the title on the line! PearlHowardman
Agreed! The AFC East is a wide open, crappy division. With Orton as QB the Bills still have a very low ceiling, though.
Dorkington
This reminds me of the year the Seahawks won their division with a 7-9 record

To take it one step further I think that the Bills are certainly the most talented team in their division. The QB play was just really bad. With anyone else the other day they would be 3-1 and virtually 1 1/2 games up. It is what it is though and I still believe that they are the team to beat within their division. Chandler#81
I focused on Orton along the sidelines at the game Sunday. (It was better than watching the field..) the new catch-phrase in the NFL is 'Body-language' and Kyle's was disturbing. Stood by himself along the sidelines most of the game. While he had his helmet on (radio), he never met with EJ & coaches to discuss field pics/ strategy or offer encouragement. I went right to him after every blown 3rd down. Arms crossed/ non-chalant. At $5.5M/yr., I wondered what he was thinking..'This is a GREAT Gig!'?? Anyway, all 1st team reps starting today. I think the WR's are thrilled with this and will catch every ball thrown their way. I don't expect to win in Detroit, but a full game under his belt before NE comes to town is essential and bodes well IMO. BTW, another Bills fan at work told me Orton is 4-0 at Detroit. Can anyone verify?
TPS
Looking at the schedules of all the teams in the East, it is there for the taking. The only Bills game I think is out of play is @Denver; everything else can go either way. If they are 3-3 after NE, and the win is against the Pats, they will be in a very good position. The next 6 games are what I'd consider the easiest part of the schedule--Minn, KC, Clev, 2xJets, and Miami. 4-2 there, then a split of the last 4 should do it. eball
Can't believe the lack of optimism around here...a quarter of the season gone and if it ended today there would be a playoff game at the Ralph! bobobonators
I'm psyched. The Jets look horrible. The pats look horrible. We destroyed Miami. We're 1-0 in division. First place. EJ was a negative through the first 4 games. Lets see what a professional veteran QB can do. If Orton can't cut it, put EJ back in there after the Bye week to see how or if he regrouped. Let EJ finish the rest of the season and confirm whether or not he has what it takes. But if Orton can move this offense better than EJ, I'm fairly confident he can win at least 6 games out of 12 remaining games which would put us at least at 8-8 and a damn good shot at winning this pathetic division. As of right now were in 1st in the East. Tom Brady for the first time looks like just any other QB. Ryan Tennehill and the Phins are in murky waters. And Gemo Smith and the Jets are, well... Geno Smith and the Jets. Just keep us moving. A win this week with Orton could set is up for a huge game at home against the struggling Brady and Pats and we could be 4-2 with a stronghold of the AFC East. Likely? Who knows. But you've got to be optimistic heading into October don't you?
chaccof
Nothin' can make Tom Brady look like the Tom Brady of old like a game against the Bills secondary....but I love the move to a new QB....Has a division ever been won with a tied record? boyst
Not to take a big fat dump on the parade but I do not want to get in to the playoffs unless we actually earn it and are a real contender. Squeaking in there with a weak division only to get destroyed in the first round just ain't much for me.

You think Seattle was complaining a few years ago when they made it in at 7-9 or whatever their crap record was? Who cares how we make it in. Winning the division from New England and Tom Brady and BB will always be awesome even if it's done at 6-
