JÂy RÛßeÒ Posted September 29, 2014 Author Posted September 29, 2014 http://www.nfl.com/gamecenter/2013122903/2013/REG17/eagles@cowboys#menu=gameinfo|contentId%3A0ap2000000306478&tab=recap Last game he played... Some interesting facts from that game: Dallas had the "league's worst defense" Dallas got 56 rushing yards Orton had 2 days to prepare after Romo's back surgery Orton was 30 for 46, 356 yards, 2 TDs and 2 INTs.
Over 29 years of fanhood Posted September 29, 2014 Posted September 29, 2014 I have a feeling we'll be very displeased with Orton after this weekend. I'm frankly glad they did it. Now we are going to see just how awesome this Super Bowl contender less a vet qb really is.
SmokinES3 Posted September 29, 2014 Posted September 29, 2014 Are they gonna do a EJ jersey swap for all the fans that they sold "EJ is our franchise QB" to? Did anyone actually fall for that?
H2o Posted September 29, 2014 Posted September 29, 2014 Actually, I think Orton gives us the best chance to make the playoffs. Much better than EJ at least. Unfortunttely the idiots at OBD actually thought we were a Sammy Watkins away from the SB and gave away our shot at a QB for next year. The QB group isn't really that strong this year outside of Mariotta. He looks like an NFL QB to me, but the rest are a bit suspect. I don't want Winston. The character issues he has now will only intensify when you add millions to the equation. Cook from MSU looks like he might make it, but I'm not sure. Sean Mannion is a big guy who has a good arm, but his numbers are likely inflated from the offense they run. Petty is inconsistent already at the college level and is running a spread system. Not sure how he would look playing from under Center. Hundley might not even leave school again and he's more of an athlete than a pure QB. You never know which Kevin Hogan is gonna show up for Stanford, wildly inconsistent at times. Connor Halliday is another possibility as he showed well on the big stage against Oregon. Maybe Jacoby Brissett from NC State, but he might not leave college either. There's really no one else that stands out to me from this group that will be the 2015 draft class. There is no one that that seems like a sure bet though and the closest thing to it is Mariotta.

I remember watching that game. He came in off the street from coaching some high school team i think. Orton is a professional QB. We're not asking him to come here and put up 300+yds every game and 3TD every game. We're asking him to hit the WR that have been open and that EJ just can't see b/c of his regression.
Wayne Cubed Posted September 29, 2014 Posted September 29, 2014 Did anyone actually fall for that? I was being a bit sarcastic but I've seen a lot of "3" jerseys in the stands.
plenzmd1 Posted September 29, 2014 Posted September 29, 2014 I remember watching that game. He came in off the street from coaching some high school team i think. that was not Orton..backup there for two years i believe
bobobonators Posted September 29, 2014 Posted September 29, 2014 (edited) that was not Orton..backup there for two years i believe wait, was that Kitna? My apologies, i guess i don't "remember" hahaha. Edited September 29, 2014 by bobobonators
Chef Jim Posted September 29, 2014 Posted September 29, 2014 Cared enough to click on your first football thread in how long? Well actually I saw it on Facebook first and it's been a rough Monday so I had to click here. I knew it'd be good for a laugh. Almost as hilarious as the game day thread. Kewl, thx You're welcome.
Perk71 Posted September 29, 2014 Posted September 29, 2014 The only people sad to see this change is the Cleveland Browns and their fan base. I agree
BUFFALOTONE Posted September 29, 2014 Posted September 29, 2014 I can't wait to read the other sites the Monday after each game " Are you serious? We let Kyle bleepin Orton torch us"?! He will look like Unitas for two weeks and then reality will set in and we will all see why he is where he is. Not trying to be a Debbie Downer but just playing the odds.
MOFO Posted September 29, 2014 Posted September 29, 2014 John Kitna was the guy who came in while teaching and coaching high school I think...
Buffalo Barbarian Posted September 29, 2014 Posted September 29, 2014 I am surprised they pulled the plug this soon, but I think it is justified. I am not a professional evaluator of QBs, but I have to conclude that the Bills simply were not seeing sufficient signs of progress. As a professional evaluator of QBs this is absolutely the right move
DC Tom Posted September 29, 2014 Posted September 29, 2014 Let me be the first to say: Orton sucks. We need another answer at QB.
bisonbrigade Posted September 29, 2014 Posted September 29, 2014 (edited) Guess everyone got what they wanted. So what happens next week or in the coming weeks when Orton sucks? Did,not want it. It's like saying you wanted a root canal. Just had to be done for the health of this team and it's suffering fans. Me included. Edited September 29, 2014 by bisonbrigade
devldog131 Posted September 29, 2014 Posted September 29, 2014 Tweeted this to Russ Brandon shortly before the announcement... just sayin'.. @DevlDog131@DevlDog131 @RussBrandon East up 4 grabs. EJ can't hit open WRs. Orton must start. Champ'ship roster w/OK QB play. EJ not answer #BillsMafia #StartOrton Reply Favorite More
ChevyVanMiller Posted September 29, 2014 Posted September 29, 2014 Even if Orton falls flat on his face, I will respect Marrone for pulling the trigger. It's almost unheard of in today's NFL. Most coaches would ride the First Round QB to their early NFL grave. Bravo, Doug!
IDBillzFan Posted September 29, 2014 Posted September 29, 2014 Season is over and 2015 is now lost. Glad everyone is so happy. It would only be better if these morons turned to Tuel next. Did you stomp your foot and pout while you typed this?
Bufcomments Posted September 29, 2014 Posted September 29, 2014 Dont agree but I'm most def watching the game at Det with big eyes. How is 14 games enough judge a QB that you knew was gonna be a project from the beginning?? Wow hope this does not backfire in Marrones face.
GG Posted September 29, 2014 Posted September 29, 2014 Did you stomp your foot and pout while you typed this? No that's only reserved when you lose a spot at the Genuis Bar
