That sort of comment doesn't exactly help our karma out.

I don't profess to be a member of the Bills organization.

Karma for doing what? Not wanting to be in Buffalo?

What an evil man.

Wanting or not wanting is one thing.

Taking action on it that disrupts your team's development, that' different.

It's a freak thing. Now if it had been his plantar fasciitis, or that he's lost a step, I'd say "see, I told you so!"

What does that even mean? Was drafting Kiko Alonso not a good idea?

The guy got injured, this doesn't credit the Bills with any foresight once soever.

His season: 1 turnover forced, one team victory with him on the field, 2 surgeries. $28 million guaranteed. Kiko is on a rookie contract and gave his team great production. Byrd hasn't given the Saints squat.

What does "once soever" mean?

You hit the nail square on the head!

It doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure out that it is a typo that should read whatsoever.

It means there will be a new addition to the TBDisms thread.

Pretty bad analogy. Kiko is on a rookie contract, a fairly small one. Not really high risk. He gave the Bills 1 very productive year.

The Saints just signed Byrd to one of the biggest contracts for a Safety. Pretty high risk considering their cap. They have gotten very little out of him thus far and will now get even less. The injury bug seems to be following him, which maybe why the Bills were hesitant to give him such a big contract.

And the weakened their team cutting players loose to make room for Byrd.

I found this on PFF:

Aaron Williams, S: +1.5

Breakdown: Williams has quietly had a great start to the season and his performance yesterday continued the trend with a fourth-straight positively graded game. He picked up two defensive stops and added a hurry on his only pass rush snap. He was targeted twice and allowed just a single 4 yard catch to Andre Johnson.

Signature Play: With 11:50 to go in the third quarter, Williams put a solid hit on C.J. Fiedorowicz to jar the ball loose and prevent a first down.

I had whatsoever written but it was underlined and spell check suggested Once soever. So I went with it. Now that the grammar lesson is out of the way.....

We are speaking on the injury alone. Kiko hasn't given the Bills squat this year. Sure its a bad analogy because he is on a rookie contract, but he was still a 2nd round draft pick. Could the Bills have picked up someone else who would have been actually playing instead?

Please note, that I do not agree with the above thought process at all, because it is absurd and ridiculous. Kiko is still a valuable 2nd round pick despite the injury. Byrd was never injury prone and started 73/80 games for the Bills. The Bills had no foresight on this injury and should not be credited with it being a "good move". If you want to talk about his performance on the field prior to the injury, then fine.

But flying off the handle patting ourselves or Whaley on the back because the guy got injured is ridiculous.

Is it? Part of the job is making the call if a player is worth the big bucks. I'd say Whaley effin' nailed it.

I can't follow that train of thought as well, so you are not the only one.

Didn't meniscus tears used to be a month or so? Some other big name also went out for the year - maybe Derrick Rose in the NBA?

This may have been a freak injury. But I know for a fact there was concern among NFL execs around the league that he was on the edge, physically, at the end of last season. This is now his second surgery in 5 months. His physical status affected everything from trade value to the talks with the Bills, to interest from other teams at FA time as it related to his contract demands. NO gambled, and lost. At least this year. Edited by YoloinOhio
