Rico Posted September 29, 2014 Posted September 29, 2014 Only if he starts cleaning Buffalo like JP did.
FluffHead Posted September 29, 2014 Posted September 29, 2014 Most of appear to have been on diapers when we had a great team.. EJ should be selling cars EJ makes the defense poop their diapers. His precision is surgical. Can we get him to sign a lifetime Extension in blood? Git r dun
Jim in Anchorage Posted September 29, 2014 Posted September 29, 2014 Most of appear to have been on diapers when we had a great team.. EJ should be selling cars Are you still not getting it or are you the designated straight man?
Who is Yuri? Posted September 29, 2014 Posted September 29, 2014 At first, I thought you were being sarcastic, because who would want to throw him off his current form with contract talk mid-season? But I can tell you've given this some serious thought, and if you really believe that we should do it right away, then I support you 120%. I'm on the bandwagon too. It will be great to not have that ? hanging over our heads.
BringBackFergy Posted September 29, 2014 Author Posted September 29, 2014 Are you still not getting it or are you the designated straight man? He raises a point but he fails to comprehend the idea of securing our future based on the time value of money. $75mill now would be $120mill in 5 years when EJ is on pace to break some of Brees' records.

Win his 3rd SB. I might as well get in this. Edited September 29, 2014 by Jim in Anchorage
Who is Yuri? Posted September 29, 2014 Posted September 29, 2014 Drew Brees' hands are only 10 1/4. EJ's are 10 3/8. It's not even a fair contest.

Hand size is directly proportional to ability to spin the ball. After 3 years, Drew Brees was able to master throwing mechanics....next year is EJ's third year...I rest my case.
run dat back Posted September 29, 2014 Posted September 29, 2014 I'm only OK with extending EJ if we can trade a seventh rounder for Russell Wilson and then cut EJ.

Rob's House Posted September 29, 2014 Posted September 29, 2014 Don't be cheap. If you look at the stats, QBs who make > $20m/yr are disproportionately more likely to make the playoffs. We should ink him to a 5 year deal for over $100m.

BuffaloBill Posted September 29, 2014 Posted September 29, 2014 Team us better off locking up its own star talent and not spending wildly on the open FA market.
machine gun kelly Posted September 29, 2014 Posted September 29, 2014 You guys are cheap. $125 mil over 6 years baby. With that laser accuracy and command of the offense. Those 20 yard passes down the field under pressure. Whew. Superbowl anyone? 17-2 baby!
Over 29 years of fanhood Posted September 29, 2014 Posted September 29, 2014 EJ should be selling cars To suppliment income because he deserves more than $75 million right?
BringBackFergy Posted September 29, 2014 Author Posted September 29, 2014 To suppliment income because he deserves more than $75 million right? I think he was implying that EJ should endorse a car dealer...maybe even John Elways dealership in Denver (but I'd make sure they couldn't try to talk about his football salary in Buffalo)
Gordio Posted September 29, 2014 Posted September 29, 2014 Your thinking is rather obtuse. Pay the man! I agree. & if the $75 million isn't enough I would also throw in 10% ownership if I was Pegula. A QB like EJ does not come around often.
negativo Posted September 29, 2014 Posted September 29, 2014 (edited) I have sources in no less than 5 NFL cities who tell me they are already maneuvering cap room with EJ in mind. He's considered a can't miss project a couple years away, and the sources are aware of how fan disloyalty in Buffalo will drive his price down. Gotta lock him up. So you're saying 5 other teams have already made an inquiry? I can understand their enthusiasm but I think that violates the CBA. The front office gave Fitz a 5 yr/$60 mill extension after 2 good games; EJ has played four pretty good games so I think he's worth $75mill...maybe throw in a new car, a mini fridge and free cleats.

We need to show him our true dedication beyond just money. Close your eyes and visualize the new, majestic, downtown waterfront EJ Manuel Stadium. It's going to have to be named after him sooner or later anyway.
