RalphOP83 Posted September 28, 2014 Posted September 28, 2014 I really think one of the linemen should've done a little enforcing after JJ's shots at EJ's knee... I know this isn't hockey but you don't let that go
BADOLBILZ Posted September 28, 2014 Posted September 28, 2014 I really think one of the linemen should've done a little enforcing after JJ's shots at EJ's knee... I know this isn't hockey but you don't let that go They were both marginal calls. I really don't think he was shooting for his knees...just lunging for sacks. I can't envision any scenario where the opposing team wouid want to try to knock EJ out of a game and then have to switch their gameplan for a veteran QB who might actually be able to hit wide open receivers 2/3 of the time.
PO'14 Posted September 28, 2014 Posted September 28, 2014 Watt was really interested in taking out a premier QB in the NFL!
FireChan Posted September 28, 2014 Posted September 28, 2014 Watt was trying to get in EJ's head. I think we can assume it worked. Watt was really interested in taking out a premier QB in the NFL! lol
RalphOP83 Posted September 28, 2014 Author Posted September 28, 2014 As a matter of principle... I don't care if it's BJ Holbert back there, it would be nice to see the linemen stand up for their quarterback
NoSaint Posted September 28, 2014 Posted September 28, 2014 (edited) He had what, 10? 12? 14? Qb hits.... I'm curious the final count Edited September 28, 2014 by NoSaint
filthymcnasty08 Posted September 28, 2014 Posted September 28, 2014 I would think that Watt would want a healthy EJ - no need to have the better QB come into the game.
Over 29 years of fanhood Posted September 28, 2014 Posted September 28, 2014 He had what, 10? 12? 14? Qb hits.... I'm curious the final count I saw 16 for the team 7 for him. Brutal...

I know this isn't hockey but you don't let that go Cyril Richardson hit Watt late with an elbow while he was on the ground actually. It was good to see. Tired of the choir boys letting other teams push us around or take shots without retaliation.
Best Player Available Posted September 28, 2014 Posted September 28, 2014 As a matter of principle... I don't care if it's BJ Holbert back there, it would be nice to see the linemen stand up for their quarterback They can't stand up for themselves, except for Eric.
Big Turk Posted September 28, 2014 Posted September 28, 2014 I have a feeling his check is gonna be a lot lighter than normal this week
34-78-83 Posted September 28, 2014 Posted September 28, 2014 They can't stand up for themselves, except for Eric. They did this time however... ^^
Mr. WEO Posted September 28, 2014 Posted September 28, 2014 They can't stand up for themselves, except for Eric. Watt ran right over Wood...
NoSaint Posted September 28, 2014 Posted September 28, 2014 I saw 16 for the team 7 for him. Brutal... I'd be curious on a recount when the all 22 is out - I stopped counting at 7 and there was plenty of time left unless I gace him credit for someone else's a few times. Or did the penalties not count as "hits" possibly?
Dean Cain Posted September 29, 2014 Posted September 29, 2014 I'm surprised Manuel's knees held up. That was one beating he took today. Hit 16 times likely fell down half of them, sacked twice.
RalphOP83 Posted September 29, 2014 Author Posted September 29, 2014 (edited) On a higher level... Seems like an oversight by the nfl that a guy doesn't get ejected for multiple personal fouls of this sort. I always say that Mario should start off every game giving the opposing QB a good shot (even slightly late)...he can eat the fine On another note... I wish Mario had Watt's mean streak Edited September 29, 2014 by RalphOP83

The_Dude Posted September 29, 2014 Posted September 29, 2014 I really think one of the linemen should've done a little enforcing after JJ's shots at EJ's knee... I know this isn't hockey but you don't let that go JJ Watt is a classy guy and he doesn't need to take EJs knees out to mentally destroy EJ. I reject that Watt was intentionally trying to hurt EJ. Had he actually hurt EJ though we'd have won the game.
taterthegator Posted September 29, 2014 Posted September 29, 2014 I thought the Texans were going after knees on both sides of the ball. They took on Chandler hi/lo and then then lots of low blocks on linemen. It seemed deliberate.
RalphOP83 Posted September 29, 2014 Author Posted September 29, 2014 There is no "intent" issue here... Intent matters in the criminal world, not the NFL.
