John in Jax Posted September 25, 2014 Posted September 25, 2014 Anybody else absolutely sick of seeing the same d**n teams over and over on the "marquee" night games (TNF, SNF, & MNF)? After this week....only week 4....Pittsburgh, Indy, Chicago, & the NY Giants will all have had TWO night games under their belt. Yes, I realize that they want "good" teams for these games, and I guess that's usually based from the previous year's records, but to me, they are shutting out A LOT of decent "middle of the road" teams, for the same old favored teams. And with the parity that's in the league now, IMHO, there's absolutely no need to keep giving us the same old same old. A LOT of those middle of the road teams (especially tried & true rivalry games) put on some very entertaining/exciting games. Thoughts?
The Big Cat Posted September 25, 2014 Posted September 25, 2014 Here's how they determine prime time games: 1.) Does the team play in a top 5 TV market? 2.) Is the team any good?
Tyrod's Tailor Posted September 25, 2014 Posted September 25, 2014 Yeah I can't believe they didn't put Buffalo vs. Houston on. Everybody wants to see that.
What a Tuel Posted September 25, 2014 Posted September 25, 2014 (edited) Yeah I can't believe they didn't put Buffalo vs. Houston on. Everybody wants to see that. Patriots at Chiefs is definitely a game I want to watch Edited September 25, 2014 by What a Tuel
Tyrod's Tailor Posted September 25, 2014 Posted September 25, 2014 Patriots at Chiefs is definitely a game I want to watch I don't want to watch it either. But we've been over why the Bills don't get on primetime at least 1000x.
Dan Posted September 25, 2014 Posted September 25, 2014 Here's how they determine prime time games: 1.) Does the team play in a top 5 TV market? ... 2.) Is the team any good? Bein' good's got nothin to do with it. #2 is all about is their a marquee player/storyline they can promote?
The Big Cat Posted September 25, 2014 Posted September 25, 2014 Pittburgh and Indy aren't top 5 markets. Which is why their week 8 matchup isn't prime time??
John in Jax Posted September 25, 2014 Author Posted September 25, 2014 I don't want to watch it either. But we've been over why the Bills don't get on primetime at least 1000x. My post wasn't meant as a "Why aren't the Bills ever on any night games?" cry, and in fact said NOTHING even close to that. Rather, I'm just sick of the same old same old. And Green Bay is definitely a small market, and the Giants went 7-9 last year, and 9-7 the year before, and they stink this year. I guess I'm just really surprised that some owners don't raise a stink about all the favoritism shown to certain franchises.

But maybe they were expected to be more dynamic when the schedule was made? and get the viewers ratings. Have the fans given up on the Giants and Eli yet
Manther Posted September 25, 2014 Posted September 25, 2014 Owners and teams don't care as much because it doesn't effect their pay day...but can impair their win loss record.
3rdand12 Posted September 25, 2014 Posted September 25, 2014 i hate bills on monday Scott ...it's Thursday. I know it was a bad game . but we have to move on. This Sunday we play the Oilers and its a game I think we can win . GO Bills !
Bills fan since 87 Posted September 25, 2014 Posted September 25, 2014 i hate bills on monday I often do to. But by Wednesday I'm ready to go....
NoSaint Posted September 25, 2014 Posted September 25, 2014 (edited) I hate that the tv stations paying tons of money to broadcast pick games that are thought to be profitable for them in national slots Edited September 25, 2014 by NoSaint
Dante Posted September 26, 2014 Posted September 26, 2014 I don't want to watch it either. But we've been over why the Bills don't get on primetime at least 1000x. And it's a good thing to. Bills usually get lit up and humiliated in prime time.
Max997 Posted September 26, 2014 Posted September 26, 2014 (edited) Doesn't every team get at least one prime time game now? I think the Bills game in Miami is a Thursday night game Edited September 26, 2014 by Max997
DC Tom Posted September 26, 2014 Posted September 26, 2014 Here's how they determine prime time games: 1.) Does the team play in a top 5 TV market? Is that why we saw the Bucs get the living **** kicked out of them by the Falcons last week? 2.) Is the team any good? Or is THAT why we saw the Bucs get the living **** kicked out of them by the Falcons last week?

The Real Buffalo Joe Posted September 26, 2014 Posted September 26, 2014 Every team (including us) gets a Thrusday Night Game.
