Bocephuz
News flash.. J.J. Watt is good.. really good. Here are some screen shots showing watt happens when Watt is left alone with a RT. First screen shot series shows pass rush domination... second run stuffing domination. Hackett and Co. better implement the Cameron Wake game plan against this guy.. otherwise.. Henderson is in for a long day. HamSandwhich
Don't ever use Bruce Smith's words unless its used to quote Bruce. That said, JJ Watt is a load help will be needed for Henderson. Luckily we don't have to block Clowney too.

Henderson is in for a long day. It's going to be a lot more difficult to implement such a game plan against Watt. He's going to see time at both 5-technique and 4i, and it's a lot harder to reach him with chipping backs and TEs. He'll probably have to be doubled and combo blocked by the OT and OG on his side of the field. Additionally, the C and OGs are going to need to get comfortable closing up the A gaps in pass protection so that they limit the amount of space he has to work inside. If they can't, he's going to overrun them. It's a tall order for sure.

Watt will actually line up much of the time against Glenn although the Texans move him allover to exploit matchups.
Maddog69
Well, to your point, the Cameron Wake domination that was predicted never happened. I guess we will have to see what happens with Watt.
John from Riverside
This is actually a game where we should probably give GLENN some help......and not force him to stone Watt by himself........

Maddog69
Freeney had a sack and an assist on a tackle. Seems like he was handled. I'd be happy if that is Watt's stat line this weekend.

Freeney gots loads of pressure on EJ. That was enough, as you saw on Sunday.
Maddog69
Seemed to me like the problems were more from inside pass rush from Liuget and the inside LB's.
26CornerBlitz
Seemed to me like the problems were more from inside pass rush from Liuget and the inside LB's. They were. Pressure up the middle with rushers directly in EJ's face. I believe Liuget was named AFC DPoW.

I agree with Chan here........if we think that our OL (to include Glenn) had a good day last week....they didnt.....Glenn was getting pushed into the backfield and EJ Manuel was skittish all game. In this one the stat line does not tell the tail. Hey.....sometimes players just have bad games like Glenn did.......JJ Watt is a fricken beast....he is quick and powerful and can really get on a roll if you let him. This is a game where I would not allow our LT to be on an island against him.
jimmy10
They did such a good job game planning for Wake in the Fish game. Seems to me they just need to do the same thing for Watt.

He owns that tag line for our lifetimes! So far I see the equation seems to be if they can run, they'll have a shot. If they can't it could get ugly. Is Houston secondary any good? machine gun kelly
Love JJ, wish he was on our team. Agreed BB, but you can't have them all. He's going to be tough to defend. Look for a lot of 12 personnel this week, and more FREDEX than CJ on passing plays. If I were a fantasy guy, I'd start Fred. He'll chip block and will be the hot route when they blitz. The key will be can we stretch the field and I don't mean 20+ yard throws, just over 10-15 yards.
YoloinOhio
He is the best defensive player in the NFL. Maybe the best player period, right now. However, the texans have lost 15 of their last 17 games and I'm pretty sure he played in all of them. So he will do his thing. But let's do ours too.
