The Beautiful East Posted September 25, 2014 Posted September 25, 2014 (edited) Yeah, I know what you're gonna say. But my man crush just got rekindled when listening to the conference call Fitz had with the Buffalo media. http://www.buffalobi...cb-51c792d5e8ea If you put aside his physical shortcomings as a QB, he is the best QB any team could ever ask for. And the fact that he quite candidly aknowledges those shortcomings makes him even better. I would absolutely love to have Fitz being our backup QB and, especially, the man mentoring EJ. boyst Posted September 25, 2014 Posted September 25, 2014 The best backup QB you could ask for a few seasons ago. Backup QB's have short careers. They get exposed and discovered. From Tommy Maddox and Doug Flutie to Alex Smith and Ryan Fitzpatrick.
YoloinOhio Posted September 25, 2014 Posted September 25, 2014 That conference call was amazing. What a great guy. Fwiw, I think he would make an outstanding coach one day.
BuffaloBillsForever Posted September 25, 2014 Posted September 25, 2014 I have no issues with fitz past or present.
ExiledInIllinois Posted September 25, 2014 Posted September 25, 2014 Backup QB's have short careers. They get exposed and discovered. Then there is Don Strock and Todd Collins.
It's in My Blood Posted September 25, 2014 Posted September 25, 2014 Fitz fit in perfectly with the city. Good guy. Too bad he has a noodle arm. One of my all time favs though.
jimmy10 Posted September 25, 2014 Posted September 25, 2014 Me too. Fitz ruled in every way except getting W's. Smart and funny as hell. I still love his line that went something like: "I picked the one career on earth where a Harvard degree is considered to be a negative."

26CornerBlitz Posted September 25, 2014 Posted September 25, 2014 Fitz is a great guy, but I'd rather have Kyle Orton. I don't miss him at all.
Hapless Bills Fan Posted September 25, 2014 Posted September 25, 2014 Fitz is a great guy, but I'd rather have Kyle Orton. I don't miss him at all. I don't think we as Bills fans know yet whether we'd rather have Kyle Orton or not
machine gun kelly Posted September 25, 2014 Posted September 25, 2014 Well, we'll find out on Orton. Same as everyone. Love the character, but desperate for a winner, and he was not going to improve. Gailey made the most of him. My hope is if we have another anemic offense against a weak team in Houston, we make the change and don't bleed this out forever. If Orton sucks, we can always go back to EJ. Orton had now a month to learn the offense and another week should be enough if he wanted to get a shot to start. When EJ loses to SD, ok, but not Houston.
26CornerBlitz Posted September 25, 2014 Posted September 25, 2014 I don't think we as Bills fans know yet whether we'd rather have Kyle Orton or not IMO, Orton is a better QB than Fitz. Speaking only for myself, I know.
Nick the Greek Posted September 25, 2014 Posted September 25, 2014 (edited) I have some great Fitz memories, airing it out to T.O.. He had an amazing TD run too. The guy had heart, I'll give him that. However, at the end of the day, he couldn't win. We better slay him this Sunday. Edited September 25, 2014 by ldandria
YoloinOhio Posted September 25, 2014 Posted September 25, 2014 He will be the least "talented" QB we have faced this year. However, he does have weapons and he will be prepared. I think we can get to him with our D.
Augie Posted September 25, 2014 Posted September 25, 2014 Do you miss Fitz as much as Fitz misses his receivers? I liked him as a person (like we were buddies or something), but he'd make me laugh the way he'd throw into coverage. Fitz probably misses being allowed to throw the ball...
BringBackFergy Posted September 25, 2014 Posted September 25, 2014 I have no issues with fitz past or present. Agreed
CardinalScotts Posted September 25, 2014 Posted September 25, 2014 by all accounts of heck of a good guy, loving Buffalo doesn't make you a better qb - but your a better person for it. now whip his ass Sunday Then there is Don Strock and Todd Collins. only if you play Collins didnt take a snap for 11 seasons...not a snap
Miyagi-Do Karate Posted September 25, 2014 Posted September 25, 2014 I was talking to this guy the other day, who was at a bar in the airport with fitz, watching the NFL draft. He said fitz was the coolest guy and when the texans didn't draft a QB in the 1st round, he was cheering and bought everyone drinks!
SJDK Posted September 25, 2014 Posted September 25, 2014 I like just about everything about Fitzmajic but I wonder if the Texans know that they will end up 6-10? Should we tell them... Nah, they'll figure it out. Do you miss Fitz as much as Fitz misses his receivers? I liked him as a person (like we were buddies or something), but he'd make me laugh the way he'd throw into coverage. Fitz probably misses being allowed to throw the ball... He will play amazing.. for 6/16 of the game and the rest will be bad decisions and a couple picks
