Saint Doug
I would love Chan as OC. Now that was an exciting offense, plus he is fairly good at guiding QB's to success.

ALF
Chan could be a fine mentor to Hackett  While we are shopping, we could use a QB and OL whisperers Edited September 23, 2014 by ALF
BringBackFergy
Chan could be a fine mentor to Hackett  While we are shopping, we could use a QB and OL whisperers Doug Marrone played OLine...I even saw him crouch down and snap the ball at mini camp...he has to be good. The Underdog
I'm a huge fan of Chan Gailey... He moved the ball on offense by design and scheme even if he didn't always have the talent.
Maddog69
Call me crazy but I also felt like if we kept Dick Jauron as HC and hired Gailey as OC, the results would have been tremendous.

Over 29 years of fanhood
but we need to talk about something until Sunday. Â Good point. If they give chan a call though, they can only use his help against d coordinators who don't have Rex Ryan's phone number.

26CornerBlitz
Where is Chan when we could use him. Our offense percolated when he ran it! TheFunPolice
Chan Gailey is the most overrated coach (by some fans) in Buffalo Bills history.  The BIGGEST myth is that his offense "moved the ball" and "scored points" more than Hackett's.  In truth, the numbers are almost identical. Even worse for the legend of Chan Gailey is that he had "his guy." He had his "franchise QB", while Hackett had to cobble together a QB group of Manuel, who got hurt 3 times, Tuel, who was a UDFA rookie, and Thad Lewis.  2012 (Gailey with his "franchise QB")  5,486 yards 344 total points (21.5 PPG) offense ranked 21/32 in PPG  3,269 pass yards 2,217 rush yards 34 turnovers  2013 (Hackett with a constantly changing QB lineup featuring 2 rookies and Thad Lewis)  5,410 yards 339 points scored (21.2 PPG) offense ranked 22/32 in PPG  3,103 pass yards 2,307 rush yards 27 turnovers   ***************************************************************  Let's end this "legend of Chan" crap. His offense did not do anything special, as evidenced by the fact that it was no better than Hackett did with a constantly changing group of QBs.  "But fun! but fun! Gailey and Fitzy were SO EXCITING to watch! The offense was GREAT!"  Nope. Sorry, you just remember the off game or two when they did well. The bulk of Chan's games here were bottom 1/3 type offensive performances. And that was with the guy HE WANTED and did everything in his power to protect from any competition.  Teams beat New England*. Miami just did it two weeks ago, and it wasn't by 3 points on a day where Brady threw 4 picks and the refs forgot who to favor. Dorkington
Chan was better at one thing, and that's utilizing CJ, that's about it. If he could come in as a "screen designer" or "guy who tells Hackett to not power run CJ up the gut" guy, I'd support it. The rest is different scheming, but as above shows, mostly the same.
