Big C Posted September 23, 2014 Posted September 23, 2014 Seemed like their bigger problem this year is defense, but hey it can't hurt!
K-9 Posted September 23, 2014 Posted September 23, 2014 At San Diego. Tough team to break in against. Let's hope the Jags don't ruin this kid, too. GO BILLS!!!
Deranged Rhino Posted September 23, 2014 Posted September 23, 2014 Everything I hear from people close to the league is that this kid has "it" and is going to be a stud. I'm excited to see what he can do.
RuntheDamnBall Posted September 23, 2014 Posted September 23, 2014 Buffalo Barbarian just ran to the bathroom real quick.
Max997 Posted September 23, 2014 Posted September 23, 2014 (edited) I like Bortles but that team just doesn't hv much talent on offense This board should be interesting if he plays well and puts up decent numbers though Edited September 23, 2014 by Max997
FluffHead Posted September 23, 2014 Posted September 23, 2014 Everything I hear from people close to the league is that this kid has "it" and is going to be a stud. I'm excited to see what he can do. They'll be celebrating and poppin Bortles in no time.
Doc Posted September 23, 2014 Posted September 23, 2014 I like Bortles but that team just doesn't hv much talent on offense This board should be interesting if he plays well and puts up decent numbers though Why? He was taken a pick before Sammy.
Deranged Rhino Posted September 23, 2014 Posted September 23, 2014 They'll be celebrating and poppin Bortles in no time. Why? He was taken a pick before Sammy. Agreed, Bortles was always going to be a Jag, they weren't moving off of that pick. The info I've heard comes from agents, so it could be all fluff, but people around the league are expecting him to be really good for a long time. He apparently gets it, lives and breathes the game, and has all the physical tools to make an impact as a young QB. And if the Jags get healthy at WR, they have talent to put up numbers. They just don't have a defense worth a damn.
reddogblitz Posted September 23, 2014 Posted September 23, 2014 So muchfor him not playing and being patient blah blah blah. That's one bad team so far the Pete Carroll coaching tree appears to be fruitful as Bill Bellyache's.
Buffalo Barbarian Posted September 23, 2014 Posted September 23, 2014 Jaguars' QB Blake Bortles named starter for Week 4: http://www.si.com/nf...rtles-nfl-debut sweet Buffalo Barbarian just ran to the bathroom real quick. I was following you Everything I hear from people close to the league is that this kid has "it" and is going to be a stud. I'm excited to see what he can do. Watch his bowl game from two years ago, I knew he had "IT" then, Kid bulldozed two defenders to get into the endzone. Roethlisberger 2.0 Why? He was taken a pick before Sammy. because we should have traded up for him instead and grabbed WR Cordarrelle Patterson last year.
Chandler#81 Posted September 23, 2014 Posted September 23, 2014 And as a Florida boy, his family and friends will attend home games. You'll see them, amid the other 35 fans..
ExiledInIllinois Posted September 23, 2014 Posted September 23, 2014 And as a Florida boy, his family and friends will attend home games. You'll see them, amid the other 35 fans.. 35? They may have to break into the home sidelines tarp for the over flow.
YoloinOhio Posted September 23, 2014 Posted September 23, 2014 What took them so long? They announced and confirmed again and again in between the draft and the regular season that Bortles would NOT play this season, barring injury. They had an organizational plan that they are throwing away in week 4 and I have to think that is somewhat embarrassing. Their mistake was ever publically stating that plan so emphatically.
filthymcnasty08 Posted September 23, 2014 Posted September 23, 2014 He looked good in the preseason - here's hoping another perennial bottom dweller solves their QB situation. Have to look out for one another.

They had an organizational plan that they are throwing away in week 4 and I have to think that is somewhat embarrassing. Their mistake was ever publically stating that plan so emphatically. Bad teams sould never make such plans. It took Pete Carroll about 10 minutes to realize his 3rd round QB pick would be his starter.
PromoTheRobot Posted September 23, 2014 Posted September 23, 2014 Here's one thing I hope people keep in mind (but I know they won't.) Teams don't have film of Bortles right now so he might look great next week or two. The real test comes when the other DCs get the book on you.
Doc Posted September 23, 2014 Posted September 23, 2014 LOL! You realize he's only been named the starter and hasn't done anything yet, right?
H2o Posted September 23, 2014 Posted September 23, 2014 Watched Bortles all preseason, about 6 or 7 games last year at UCF, and this past weekend in the 2nd half. I can't remember too many QB's who look this comfortable and NFL ready as a rook. The guy is gonna be something special for the Jags for years to come.
