Mr. WEO Posted September 21, 2014 Posted September 21, 2014 No way--you have to stay with EJ. Although I'm beginning to think that he really can't co=exist with this level of coaching/staff.
Packerland Bills Fan Posted September 21, 2014 Posted September 21, 2014 (edited) Yes, bench EJ and start Orton. But after a while, maybe a couple of years, Orton will start to seem like another Fritz. In other words a QB that has enough athletic limitations that fans are going to want to see him replaced. But the team is not going to be bad enough to get close to the top of the draft. So they'll end up taking a QB with a high upside, but with enough flaws in his game that he slips down out of the top 10. So, in about 3 years or so, what they'll get is another EJ Manuel! Green Lightning Posted September 21, 2014 Posted September 21, 2014 EJ was flat out awful. But let's see if he learns anything from it. Way too early to give up on him.
John from Riverside Posted September 21, 2014 Posted September 21, 2014 In a game where everyone sucked except special teams and Freddie Jackson........I definately think we should go to our backup QB even though our started played reasonably well the 1st 2 games and we are 2-1
goldenboy81 Posted September 21, 2014 Posted September 21, 2014 I wouldn't put this game all on ej.. he did struggle but the entire team from coaches down were terrible too..
Wayne Cubed Posted September 21, 2014 Posted September 21, 2014 Can Kyle Orton stop defense on 3rd and 10, 3rd and 8, 3rd and 6? If so, yes.
QCity Posted September 21, 2014 Posted September 21, 2014 What's the over/under on hearing "it's only his 13th game" on the forums this week? I'll say 100 and take the over.
Bills Fan of St Augustine Posted September 21, 2014 Posted September 21, 2014 Team loss at home. Very disappointing. Stick with EJ for now. He has to learn from this, but the loss is not his fault. OLine was pathetic. Coaching was worse. Coverage, well...what coverage? Very sad..
PromoTheRobot Posted September 21, 2014 Posted September 21, 2014 You don't bench EJ until he puts 5-6 games like this together in a row. As long as he is showing steps you play him.
ExiledInIllinois Posted September 21, 2014 Posted September 21, 2014 Did you know playing cards with Kenny Rogers gets old pretty fast? Hold 'em? Fold 'em? Walk away or run? Which is it?
ko12010 Posted September 21, 2014 Posted September 21, 2014 Only if Orton can call defense and send more than four guys. Giving up 20 points to the San Diego offense is pretty darn good. 10 better than Seattle's vaunted D. This is on the offense.

Fair enough... What steps does he show? We are in deep doo doo if the team can't get to 8-8... No first round pick.
MarkAF43 Posted September 21, 2014 Posted September 21, 2014 I didn't realize EJ took the holding penalties, hands to the face and is to blame for the extremely lackluster D that showed up today. He wasn't perfect but he was FAR from the reason we lost today.

I say co-existing in a windy, swirling Ralph Wilson Stadium is a more pressing worry of mine! Coaches are the least of his problems! Even with all that stuff, they were in it! Hard to believe... EJ left a lot on the field... He finishes half that and who knows... They are moving for the tie or a win @ the end. He's the reason plain and simple. The Bills held SD to 20 points.
JC2002 Posted September 21, 2014 Posted September 21, 2014 Only if Orton can call defense and send more than four guys. if the defense is holding teams to 22 points or less the defense is not a excuse with the weapons we have . In 3 games opponents have been held to 22 ,10,23 those are winnable numbers in the NFL. The argument that for us to win the defense should have held the Chargers to under 10 points is

Concrete Buffalo Feet Posted September 21, 2014 Posted September 21, 2014 EJ was terrible today and the moment that really upset me the most (besides the safety) was when he missed woods (woods wasn't looking for the ball) and EJ was smiling!!! Smiling... Are you kidding me? Peyton and Brady would have flipped their lid!
Alphadawg7 Posted September 21, 2014 Posted September 21, 2014 For me, this is an RU kidding me poll! THIS TIMES 1000 Seriously, are you freaking kidding me??? 2-1, first place in the division, 2 quality and tough wins with good play by EJ...and now one subpar game where the whole team sucked against a very good team that embarrassed Seattle last week and these polls pop up? This is so ridiculous.

Did he play well enough to win? No. But to say "plain and simple he's the reason" is a ridiculous statement IMO.
