Nice try with the Peter Pan link.

bbb Posted September 27, 2014 Posted September 27, 2014 "For my life still ahead, pity me." Love that song.

bbb Posted September 29, 2014 Posted September 29, 2014 "And the most she will do is throw shadows at you, but she's always a woman to me." Hate that song.
LeviF Posted September 29, 2014 Posted September 29, 2014 "Assuming that all things are equal, who'd want to be men of the people when there's people like you?"
OGTEleven Posted September 30, 2014 Posted September 30, 2014 (edited) I will throw in two from songs that are not too well known. And I will waste my heart on fear no more I will find a secret bell and make it ring And let the rest be washed up on the shore They can't be tamed, these wilder things No they can't be tamed, these wilder things You’re a light in the dark, a beacon of hope and strong as a sea boat, strong as a rope And the vagabond wind, whispers over the bay and the songs and the laughter, are carried away in the sky Edited September 30, 2014 by OGTEleven
DC Tom Posted September 30, 2014 Posted September 30, 2014 Hate that song. Not my favorite, by a long shot. But very good lyrics. Billy Joel's one of a very few songwriters whose lyrics can stand on their own as poetry.

I agree. I hated him in high school and college, but then my girlfriend introduced me to his album cuts and I ended up with all his albums. I just don't like a lot of his hits, like that one. He even said - if all I knew were my hits, I'd hate me, too!
