Peter Posted September 21, 2014 Posted September 21, 2014 (edited) Flute won games for Buffalo and that's all you should care about. He did what no other QB other than Jim Kelly did in 35 years and that's win enough games to make it to the playoffs That is the bit that kills me ("Flutie won games") as if there were 22 little Fluties on offense and defense winning those games. Flutie and JBJ belong together. Edited September 21, 2014 by Peter
The Dean Posted September 21, 2014 Posted September 21, 2014 That is the bit that kills me ("Flutie won games") as if there were 22 little Fluties on offense and defense winning those games. Flutie and JBJ belong together. The Bills won games with Flutie as QB. Sometimes Flutie make great/exciting plays late in the game to help the victory. But he never QB'd the team to a playoff win.
uticaclub Posted September 21, 2014 Posted September 21, 2014 Rob Johnson seemed to have trouble winning
The Dean Posted September 21, 2014 Posted September 21, 2014 Rob Johnson seemed to have trouble winning Newsflash!!!! Wow, what a remarkable observation. Yet, even Rob Johnson left walked off the field with his team safely ahead and poised to win a playoff game. Something Doug never could never manage.
Pondslider Posted September 21, 2014 Posted September 21, 2014 (edited) Johnson vs. Flutie will never die. (#!@#$Flutie) Edited September 21, 2014 by Pondslider

RuntheDamnBall Posted September 21, 2014 Posted September 21, 2014 Safely ahead would be more than 1 score So you mean "more than the 1 score ahead" that DF never walked off the playoff field with? Get real. The Dean has laid out the case against "he just wins," and the retort, predictably, is "but he just wins!" PS: They both were not good enough.
Captain Caveman Posted September 21, 2014 Posted September 21, 2014 I remember having this argument at a game about 10 years ago with a couple of Canadians. When I brought up the locker room bull **** about Flutie, the response was "Dougie wouldn't say that. No, Dougie wouldn't say that." Since that day, my dislike of Canadians has almost equalled my dislike of Doug Flutie.
Donszar Posted September 21, 2014 Posted September 21, 2014 Newsflash!!!! Wow, what a remarkable observation. Yet, even Rob Johnson left walked off the field with his team safely ahead and poised to win a playoff game. Something Doug never could never manage. rob Johnson only had the opportunity to walk off that playoff game field because Doug Flutie got them there with an 10-5 regular season record. We haven't been back since.
uticaclub Posted September 22, 2014 Posted September 22, 2014 Today's game was a perfect example. D played good enough to win and we needed a QB who could make plays. I'm sorry but the last time I thought we had a chance to win every game was when Flutie played.
