dave mcbride Posted September 19, 2014 Posted September 19, 2014 right, but for number of sacks as a volume stat, they had less plays run against them, so looking at their sack rate per pass attempt is more meaningful. thats all. Maybe they had fewer plays run against them because it was so hard to get passing first downs because of how good their CB play was? I mean, there's a reason that GB didn't throw against him all game.

I mean, there's a reason that GB didn't throw against him all game. right -- because their #1 cb covering the #3 or #4 wr was not as advantageous as their #1 WR going against seattles #2 or 3 CB. thats the thing thats tricky in the discussion of whether he is simply VERY good, or best in the league. we do not see him cover the #1 wr consistently, so you can take sherman out of the game with a warm body, if thats what you decide to gameplan. with peterson, its #1 on #1 and no offense wants to ignore their #1 receiver Edited September 19, 2014 by NoSaint
