TheBrownBear Posted September 15, 2014 Posted September 15, 2014 I live in San Diego. Chargers are mediocre on defense and they don't have a ton of team speed in general. Rivers keeps them in games, but I don't think they're anything better than an average team. If we protect the ball, I think we win. Something like 23-16.
Webster Guy Posted September 15, 2014 Posted September 15, 2014 Big loss for them at center. We will be favored by 2. I see the Chargers as a lot like the Bears team we just beat on the road. Except SD doesn't have a great runner. Look for a higher scoring game than we're used to, but Bills win this one too and go to 3-0 baby
Passepartout Posted September 15, 2014 Posted September 15, 2014 Rivers is the key to the Chargers SB run!
Solomon Grundy Posted September 15, 2014 Posted September 15, 2014 I wish Keith Rivers was playing this game. Gates need to be contained for us to win. Pass rush needs to be disruptive. Bills offensive line has to be physical. Bills need a TE!
CSBill Posted September 15, 2014 Posted September 15, 2014 Are Tough. Doesn't get any easier next week, folks! The best thing that could have happened is the Chargers winning against the Seahawks . . . that alone, should keep the Bills from overlooking them or getting to confident. It was a good thing they won, reminds everyone that every team in this league is capable.
YoloinOhio Posted September 15, 2014 Author Posted September 15, 2014 (edited) I wish Keith Rivers was playing this game. Gates need to be contained for us to win. Pass rush needs to be disruptive. Bills offensive line has to be physical. Bills need a TE! SD has Manti Teo, who they traded up to get ahead of Kiko. He is limited, IMO, and hopefully Hackett can take advantage. Donald Butler is a stud LB and I think their DL is underrated. Melvin Ingram is back this year as well. They have a good defense, on the whole best we've seen this year IMO. Front 4 maybe not as good as Miami. freeney still makes plays but past his prime. They signed Brandon Flowers but he didn't play yesterday with groin issue. Their rookie CB Jason Verrett looks fantastic. Edited September 15, 2014 by YoloinOhio
RuntheDamnBall Posted September 15, 2014 Posted September 15, 2014 The Bolts are a mirror image of us...with a more experienced qb. At home we win. I gotta admit, I look in our mirror and it makes Antonio Gates look pasty and inconsistent, even though Chandler did a nice job today.
YoloinOhio Posted September 15, 2014 Author Posted September 15, 2014 I gotta admit, I look in our mirror and it makes Antonio Gates look pasty and inconsistent, even though Chandler did a nice job today. seattle had zero answer for Gates. Hope Schwartzy can scheme for him.
YoloinOhio Posted September 15, 2014 Author Posted September 15, 2014 @ProFootballTalk: Report: Initial diagnosis is MCL sprain for Ryan Mathews http://t.co/mWvhgXubH7
BillsFan-4-Ever Posted September 15, 2014 Posted September 15, 2014 big game & win for SD. Lets hope that high and jet lag slow them down against the Bills on Sunday.
eme123 Posted September 15, 2014 Posted September 15, 2014 If we don't win the division this year SanDiego and Houston could be battling with us for wild cards. These next two games are huge.
nucci Posted September 15, 2014 Posted September 15, 2014 Classic letdown spot for SD…..huge, emotional home win against the SB champs…..X country flight….away game….SD players may have overlooked this game a week ago. There's a whole week to prepare. They start practicing Wednesday for this weeks game. They'll have forgotten about Seattle and will focus on the Bills. Now, losing Matthews is a huge loss for them but covering Woodhead and Gates will be tough.
aristocrat Posted September 15, 2014 Posted September 15, 2014 Look at that time of possession for that game...17 mins and chage for seattle and 42 for the chargers. Wow, More than 10 mins of possession per quarter? Seattle had 13 carries for 108 yards so they can be run on. Also, Seattle put up 21 points in 17 mins so it seems the Chargers def gives up plays so we just need to get that run game going. I think we have a solid chance. We just need to shut down Gates which is no easy task and Jimbo will have his hands full this week.
bobobonators Posted September 15, 2014 Posted September 15, 2014 We're going to have to do to them, what they did to Seattle this past Sunday: dominate time of possession. We can't go toe to toe with Rivers and hope to win a shootout. 1. Win time of possession. 2. Score TD when in the red zone. 3. Win turnover battle.
taglientep Posted September 15, 2014 Posted September 15, 2014 If there's a power outage next Sunday , the game is ours. Awesome! I will bring the baloons!
DirtDart Posted September 15, 2014 Posted September 15, 2014 Are Tough. Doesn't get any easier next week, folks! I believe this will be as tough of a test as any. The chargers have a pretty dam good passing game, which will test our young DBs.
