mitchmurraydowntown Posted September 13, 2014 Posted September 13, 2014 Naples FL is in South FL, I've be here for decades & I in no way would call it anything but beautiful. It's literally the opposite of Miami.
cjatcreek07 Posted September 13, 2014 Posted September 13, 2014 New Smyrna beach where I live in florida is paradise. I think there are crappy parts of towns and trashy people in every state, florida might just have a few more than the norm.
keepthefaith Posted September 13, 2014 Posted September 13, 2014 Gotta hand it to the writer, he did his homework.
frogger Posted September 13, 2014 Posted September 13, 2014 I've spent plenty of time in Florida. Around the whole state, as long as you're within a couple hundred yards of the coast, it's gorgeous. Head inland and it's a humid, meth-fueled hellscape. Daytona is maybe my least favorite place in the world. Orlando (outside of Disney and the Dr Phillips area) is nothing but ghetto. I got married in Miami, in coral gables...car got broken into and everything stolen. Miami is horrible.
3rdand12 Posted September 13, 2014 Posted September 13, 2014 (edited) I thought it great humor through and through. Buffoonery abounds ! Edited September 13, 2014 by 3rdand12

Best Player Available Posted September 13, 2014 Posted September 13, 2014 Naples FL is by far the best part of the entire state. Naples is nice, and has the best oyster bar in Florida. but a couple of other gulf towns rival it. if you like quiet at night it's the place to be.

Many of the Florida beach towns (East and West coast, but especially West coast) are exceptionally nice. I'd be shocked if anyone argued otherwise. (Although I understand how some might find some of these places a bit too snotty/rich for their tastes. Especially if you love the down-to-earth vibe from many of the Great Lakes cities.) But once you get inland, as one poster already stated (the dregs heat of Florida) it becomes more intolerable, IMO.

The stone crab claws obtained locally here are legendary as well, they only take one claw and put the crab back to grow a new one !!
