Roger Goodell Posted September 10, 2014 Posted September 10, 2014 I believe our league office had some turnover in the mail room around that time.
NoSaint Posted September 10, 2014 Posted September 10, 2014 Heck, I think he should be fired because he's done virtually nothing right in this whole fiasco. Not the 2 game suspension part - agree or disagree with that, it is at least a debatable issue. But by trying at every turn to minimize the public outcry and just hope this issue goes away, he's turned it into a PR disaster. If you were an owner, would you really want him to stick around? it seems they generally like him. a lot. and he has overseen historic growth for their checkbooks. i think the bigger thing will be if he lied to the owners about it, or just us.
TSOL Posted September 10, 2014 Posted September 10, 2014 When youre as high and mighty as the NFL is, everyone, and i mean EVERYONE is looking for a reason to take you down a peg. The commisioners job is to make sure that never happens. In this instance, Rodger Goodell has failed, miserably
Ramius Posted September 10, 2014 Posted September 10, 2014 Hopefully that arrogant piece of trash we call the commish is shown the door. Everything he does, including his attempts to squeeze every last cent from fans and now his lying on this issue wreaks of nothing more than complete and utter arrogance. HE deserves to go for trying to sweep this issue under the rug so no one remembers it, and then turning around and going on and on about how much the NFL loves women by wearing pink during October.
KollegeStudnet Posted September 10, 2014 Posted September 10, 2014 (edited) I doubt anything will happen. The owners have final say and Roger brings in the money! Edited September 10, 2014 by KollegeStudnet

That's why Goodell will be getting fired. It might take a few days of half-hearted defenses from other owners, but he will be gone. It's a matter of time.

maddenboy Posted September 10, 2014 Posted September 10, 2014 NFL had tapes in April? So what? Its a private business. It can do what it wants. The real problem/issue is, if I'm Rice's attorney, I would immediately: (1) file for immediate appeal of the indefinite suspension, because there was no new information. (2) Bring charges against local law enforcement for releasing the tape. Might have to go to the judge, or ask the AG to step in.
KollegeStudnet Posted September 10, 2014 Posted September 10, 2014 Where are the Belicheat tapes? Burned
Tyrod's Tailor Posted September 10, 2014 Posted September 10, 2014 (edited) NFL had tapes in April? So what? Its a private business. It can do what it wants. Wrong. NFL is registered as a non-profit organization. Really. No Joke. http://www.nbcnews.com/business/business-news/legal-procedure-critics-cry-foul-nfl-defends-nonprofit-status-f8C11412804 Edited September 10, 2014 by billsfaninmanhattan
DC Tom Posted September 10, 2014 Posted September 10, 2014 I don't have any legal knowledge but is it true that if she didn't want to press charges, then no legal action could be taken? NO! Law enforcement can press charges on their own in domestic violence cases on probable cause alone. They don't need a complainant. Jesus...how many times to I have to point that out?
26CornerBlitz Posted September 10, 2014 Posted September 10, 2014 Burned So they claim. No sale here!

But I'd be filing an immediate appeal. And I'd be pressing civil charges against the state of New Jersey, for the professional damage and loss of income caused by the illegal sharing of evidence from an active case (Ray Rice pleaded out in May, in April the case was still active). What a total cluster-!@#$.
GA BILLS FAN Posted September 10, 2014 Posted September 10, 2014 They say the cover up is worse than the crime, in this case, it might pretty close as they both are pretty bad !!

That's kind of what I'm getting at. IMO he SHOULD do everything he can to minimize public outcry. That's his job. I'm curious if people think he should be fired because his miscalculation caused a media firestorm that could damage the league, or whether it's on moral grounds.
HankBulloughMellencamp Posted September 10, 2014 Posted September 10, 2014 I believe our league office had some turnover in the mail room around that time.
