I've watched a fair amount of Clemson ball, and Tajh "Dough" Boyd is nothing more than a fatter less accurate EJ.

How is he "fat"? 6' 1" and 225. Sounds like a football player to me.

Boyd is so good that the Jets couldn't even find a spot on the practice squad for him. And he's "athletic" so he must have huge upside. Plus, I've heard of him and his college games were on ESPN. Get 'er done Doug!

Compared to Tuel's fantastic college stats and W-L record Boyd looks like...well, umm...Johnny Freaking Unitas.

Jets fans tell me he struggled learning the playbook as the main reason the Jets cut him...

Maybe we could hire Jordon Palmer to teach Taj how to learn the play book faster?

So so many threads about other teams cast offs/rejects and "giving a shot" to guys that failed elsewhere. Personally, I just want our starters to stay healthy and perform at a high level. I don't want to have to rely on a Tuel or Boyd for wins. He struggled because he's as dumb as a rock. Also not a great characteristic for an NFL quarterback, backup or no.

Jordan Palmer has never read a playbook, but he has a clinic where he teaches other QBs how to read them. I think he taught bortles how to read.

Word is his weight has fluctuated a great deal. Been 240 or so, at times.

I think he just signed on to have Jared Lorenzen as his QB guru/coach.

I think if him as sort of a poor man's Russell Wilson.

Very, very poor man. Not even close, in my opinion. I live in Clemson country and know a few people who have ties to the team. Boyd has a learning problem, so the offense was dumbed down when he was here. He just can't grasp the complex stuff. Wilson has way more football intelligence.

Tahj Boyd is a really special player. I think he could be the next Tee Martin.

TB has a much higher ceiling than Tuel. He is a plus athlete with many of the same skills as EJ; if he could be coached into a capable backup QB, the playbook would not need to change much if EJ went down.

Tuel, on the other hand, has pretty much zero upside.

we'll said and very accurate
