BuffaloBaumer Posted September 8, 2014 Posted September 8, 2014 Has anyone heard anything about this being a possibility? Is there any way to get this idea out there? Can you even imagine the crowd's reaction?! There would not be a dry eye in the house and I can't think of anything that would be more motivational than seeing #12 lead the team out on opening day.
BillnutinHouston Posted September 8, 2014 Posted September 8, 2014 Wow - that would be awesome. And I'll be there!!

Send him a tweet with the idea. It would be great!!! It's Bills' Alumni week by the way.
BuffaloBaumer Posted September 8, 2014 Author Posted September 8, 2014 I just emailed Mike Schopp and he said he was going to ask around. My friend also said he just left a vm with a guy who is best friends with Russ.....we'll see

At least have him wave the flag under the scoreboard ( assuming they will still do that). .. ( Blues For Allah is an outstanding album BTW...)
BillsFan-4-Ever Posted September 8, 2014 Posted September 8, 2014 Wow - that would be awesome. And I'll be there!! +1
Solomon Grundy Posted September 8, 2014 Posted September 8, 2014 I want to see #3 leading us out With Kelly swinging the Bills flag!!
keepthefaith Posted September 8, 2014 Posted September 8, 2014 Have him suit up in pads, helmet and jersey. The fans would go wild.
Maddog69 Posted September 8, 2014 Posted September 8, 2014 It seems like almost a certainty that Jimbo will be there in some way. My guess is he will be "Leading the charge" Waving the flag as the Bills run out of the tunnel. RWS is going to be ROCKING. I love Dolphins week.
BuffalothruMyVeins Posted September 8, 2014 Posted September 8, 2014 Have him suit up in pads, helmet and jersey. The fans would go wild. That's what I was thinking, it would be pretty dynamite kick ass to see him in shoulder pads with KELLY on his back, charging out of the tunnel. No helmet, though, that would look dopey, like he's trying too hard to be a mascot.
boyst Posted September 8, 2014 Posted September 8, 2014 I really, really hope they do good at opening this game up. Start with a moment of silence for Ralph with a still image of him on the boards. Cue up footage of him cheering the team on at various stages, footage of him with players, than former players take the field... last out, Jim Kelly - crowd goes nuts. Ladies and Gentleman your 2014 Buffalo Bills...all as a team. Wow - that would be awesome. And I'll be there!! +1 Ya'll stopping by hammers lot?
machine gun kelly Posted September 8, 2014 Posted September 8, 2014 If he was up for it, I'd love for him to be a part of the opening ceremony. However he felt was appropriate. Love that guy. I'm flying up for the game with my boys. I can't wait.
Chef Jim Posted September 8, 2014 Posted September 8, 2014 I really, really hope they do good at opening this game up. Start with a moment of silence for Ralph with a still image of him on the boards. Cue up footage of him cheering the team on at various stages, footage of him with players, than former players take the field... last out, Jim Kelly - crowd goes nuts. This. Seems like many of us forgot who started this whole thing before most of us were even born. Sure Kelly's a story but this one should be about Ralph. Jim should be there but not the focus.
BuffaloBaumer Posted September 8, 2014 Author Posted September 8, 2014 Here is what I was told... Yes, Jim will be a part of the pregame ceremony. "A big part", I'm told.
Solomon Grundy Posted September 8, 2014 Posted September 8, 2014 Even better would be Kelly and EJ leading the team out, then on the video board have Ralph saying something like " Let's get em boys or time to squish the fish". That would be awesome!!
Lurker Posted September 8, 2014 Posted September 8, 2014 I want to see #3 leading us out Yep. As much as I love Jimbo, he needs to move to the sidelines here...
Augie Posted September 8, 2014 Posted September 8, 2014 This. Seems like many of us forgot who started this whole thing before most of us were even born. Sure Kelly's a story but this one should be about Ralph. Jim should be there but not the focus. Thank you. Don't get me wrong, I'd love to see the whole Jim Kelly moment, but there has to be no question that this is about Ralph. He brought us this team, he's the reason they stayed and it looks like the reason they will remain. Jim being involved would be great, but let there be no confusion over who the central figure is on Sunday, in my mind. As a semi-interesting aside, I only saw Mr. Wilson up close and in person two times in my life. The first time I was leaving the rest room at the Creekview in Williamsville and almost knocked him over. Oops! The next day I almost got run over by his little Pope Mobile at the stadium. We're even.
BillnutinHouston Posted September 8, 2014 Posted September 8, 2014 Ya'll stopping by hammers lot? Yup, me and the Mrs. have a general spot reserved and will be sure to stop by. Looking forward to meeting you guys! Will bring some cold Labatts to share.
