DallasBillsFan1 Posted September 8, 2014 Posted September 8, 2014 I don't think enough can be said about that catch. That was a phenomenal catch by a top tier wide receiver! I could watch that one play over and over. A nearly impossible catch but a clearly superior athlete went up and made the play. Reminds me of the glory days. Awesome job!
Not at the table Karlos Posted September 8, 2014 Posted September 8, 2014 Robert Woods is a beast. Last year's second round draft picks were absolutely amazing
Kelly the Dog Posted September 8, 2014 Posted September 8, 2014 That's why this team could actually be good. Watkins-Williams-Woods-Goodwin is a dynamic foursome. CJ-Fred-Boobie-Brown, too is hard to beat. All EJ needs to do is not be stupid, and get the ball to playmakers downfield once in awhile. He did that today and it's a win on the road against a tough team. The thing is, Whaley intentionally built this team to be able to succeed with EJ just being average. It's a nice strategy. What happens if he actually turns out to be decent or, god forbid, good.
Gisele Posted September 8, 2014 Posted September 8, 2014 As awesome as Freddie's run was, Woods made the play of the day. I'll drink a beer for both of these guys tonight. My wife says that'll be around 20 beers total for the day (I hid some empties).

seq004 Posted September 8, 2014 Posted September 8, 2014 That guy is a beast. I loved the pick two years ago and he's all guts.
Dean Cain Posted September 8, 2014 Posted September 8, 2014 The guys on Fox said they thought Woods jump early, Woods appeared to double clutch by extending his arms higher to catch the ball. You couldn't ask for a better ball & a great high point catch from Woods. I like these kind of throws because the WR is protected because once they secure the ball they are falling to the ground without landing on their legs - exposing themselves to their knees being taken out.
Doc Posted September 8, 2014 Posted September 8, 2014 Looks like EJ is starting to trust his receivers to make a play on the ball. Nice.
Jkgobills Posted September 8, 2014 Posted September 8, 2014 Does he at all remind anyone else a little bit of Andre Reed? Tough, Fearless, great hands, great route runner

What happens if he actually turns out to be decent or, god forbid, good. I'm watching the Bronco/Colts game and I see an Bronco WR (Sanders?) stretch out and make a great catch. And in my particular state of buzzedness it occurs to me: When you have a talented WRs, with a QB they trust, special things happen fairly regularly. I know that's a pretty obvious observation, one I should be embarrassed to share on a public forum. (And I would be embarrassed if I gave a damn about what any of you think! ) Anyway... Today I saw 2-3 very good efforts/receptions by Bills receivers, and I haven't really seen that for awhile. I also saw an uninspired effort or two, which I think I've seen a bit too much of recently. A game like this can start to be the difference. (I am not, on the basis of one game, prepared to say it will make a difference.) Guys see guys making plays, and having their number dialed up more, and they know it's time to step up. The more time these guys have to play together, and taste a bit of success. the more confident they will become, This is a young team and they have had very little time together. It's clear that Woods and EJ have a pretty solid connection. I believe I see the early stages between a connection between Williams and EJ. If that's the case, I can't help but believe Watkins doesn't take long after that. Now look, I'm just tossing this around as what might be happening--I'm not, at this time, suggesting that it is happening. So, in a nutshell: I'm not sayin', I'm just sayin'

Tough, Fearless, great hands, great route runner Kept popping into my mind all game. Not ready to annoint him, and needs to show me more yards after catch, but certainly showed some guts over the middle.

The last "spectacular" catch I remember before the Marrone era was Stevie's one hander in midair. When we were down 30 against Seattle.
Green Lightning Posted September 8, 2014 Posted September 8, 2014 He did some pretty some pretty solid blocking as well. I am looking forward to seeing him continue to develop. Mike Williams is gong to be an impact player for us I think. He Looks strong and fast out there.
26TrapDraw Posted September 8, 2014 Posted September 8, 2014 I wouldn't be the least bit surprised if Woods leads the team in catches and yards at the end of the year with this current stable of Wide outs. The dude can flat out play ball.
firemedic Posted September 8, 2014 Posted September 8, 2014 Awesome catch, and nice no-call on the helmet to helmet hit immediately after......
Kelly the Dog Posted September 8, 2014 Posted September 8, 2014 Not only great leap, timing and clutch catch, but kept his balance and turned upfield and got five more yards.
billsfan714 Posted September 8, 2014 Posted September 8, 2014 Didnt some high school have both Robert Woods and Marquise Lee? Holy crap!!!!!
26CornerBlitz Posted September 8, 2014 Posted September 8, 2014 If EJ throws that ball inside where you'd expect it to be, Woods gets lit up the the by safety Conte who was closing in fast for a big time hit. Pretty sure it was unintentional, but the ball location worked out for the Bills.
