YoloinOhio Posted September 8, 2014 Posted September 8, 2014 What's the story with Rivers and AW? Saw rivers go to locker room; heard AW also had an issue (but didn't see)?
BringBackFergy Posted September 8, 2014 Posted September 8, 2014 That's a nice thread 26. I like having something to refer to for a succinct recap. Nice work.
PolishDave Posted September 8, 2014 Posted September 8, 2014 What's the story with Rivers and AW? Saw rivers go to locker room; heard AW also had an issue (but didn't see)? On the play it looked like Rivers might have pulled a hammy...Kind of just went limp a bit babying one leg. But I didn't hear any news on him.

26CornerBlitz Posted September 8, 2014 Author Posted September 8, 2014 Observations: Bills 23 - Bears 20 By Joe Buscaglia Raise your hand if you were expecting that. The Buffalo Bills left the crowd at Soldier Field stunned as they defeated the hometown Chicago Bears 23-20 in overtime. The Bills had a great deal of success in the first half which set the stage for their eventual victory in overtime. After the training camp and preseason that they had, how did the Bills get to the point to pull one of the shocking upsets of Week One? Here are some observations as to how head coach Doug Marrone and company got the job done:
boyst Posted September 8, 2014 Posted September 8, 2014 I move to pin this. Including links to quotes, interviews and injury/team reports from both sides. and leave it pinned until Monday afternoon.
boyst Posted September 8, 2014 Posted September 8, 2014 Observations: Bills 23 - Bears 20 By Joe Buscaglia I actually did sort of expect it. I know I ahve been more down than any year in the past but the more we got close to the game. The more I looked back in my memory...yeah.
Doc Posted September 8, 2014 Posted September 8, 2014 Rivers-groin. AW-concussion. I expect AW to be fine. Rivers I'm not so optimistic.
26CornerBlitz Posted September 8, 2014 Author Posted September 8, 2014 I expect AW to be fine. Rivers I'm not so optimistic. Good thing Bradham is back tomorrow. I wonder who's going to be released??
Doc Posted September 8, 2014 Posted September 8, 2014 Good thing Bradham is back tomorrow. I wonder who's going to be released?? My bet is J. Smith.
Big C Posted September 8, 2014 Posted September 8, 2014 My bet is J. Smith. I would have said Gay going into the game, but that dude booted those kickoffs. Jacquies Smith seems like the choice now.
26CornerBlitz Posted September 8, 2014 Author Posted September 8, 2014 Game Photos: Bills-Bears Photos of the Week 1 matchup between the Buffalo Bills and Chicago Bears at Soldier Field. My bet is J. Smith. I would have said Gay going into the game, but that dude booted those kickoffs. Jacquies Smith seems like the choice now. Seems like a plausible choice with him being a 3rd string DE.
Luxy312 Posted September 8, 2014 Posted September 8, 2014 I'm here in Chicago folks and it's quiet. Bears got beat and it should have been a lot worse. I'm out of several survivor leagues because of this week, but couldn't give a ****. Bills sealed the deal in the red zone. They won a game I would never have guessed they even had a shot. Fantastic!
Doc Posted September 8, 2014 Posted September 8, 2014 I would have said Gay going into the game, but that dude booted those kickoffs. Jacquies Smith seems like the choice now. Reminded me of that punter the Bills had briefly during the SB years that was amazing on KO's.
26CornerBlitz Posted September 8, 2014 Author Posted September 8, 2014 Bills Roundup: Buffalo Wins in OT 23-20 <4:00> Buffalo's defense made a big stop on Chicago's first possession of overtime, and Fred Jackson's 38 yard run set up the winning field goal, as the Bills won in Soldier Field for the first time ever, 23-20.
LA Grant Posted September 8, 2014 Posted September 8, 2014 Kyle Williams is one of the best players on this team athletically, but also with his mentality too -- loved hearing him toward the end of his postgame talk about how overcoming adversity and winning the game is what they bond over, and winning is the only thing that "changes the culture." The bit too about how previous teams would've used the bad calls as a reason to shrug their shoulders and give up and how this team pushed through -- "This is the kind of team I want to play for." This doesn't seem like a time on the verge of imploding. This seems like a team on the verge of putting it all together.
voodoo poonani Posted September 8, 2014 Posted September 8, 2014 Observations: Bills 23 - Bears 20 By Joe Buscaglia I agree with pretty much everything Joe B says here
