BringBackFergy Posted September 5, 2014 Author Posted September 5, 2014 CJ Spiller, run, 1 yard.... 2nd and 9 False Start on the 2nd down.... 2nd & 14 Incomplete pass, broken up to Chandler... 3rd & 14 Complete to Mike Williams for 8 yds.... 4th and 6 PUNT That is pretty much spot on.
Bill from NYC Posted September 5, 2014 Posted September 5, 2014 Hand off to Spiller, gain of 2. 1) Draw. 2) Spiller 3) Gain of 2
BringBackFergy Posted September 5, 2014 Author Posted September 5, 2014 Perhaps I'm missing something here. I believe I understand what positive is. Any yardage beyond the original LOS. And in the event of a sack, you will use the second play from scrimmage. So far I'm pretty clear on the concept, I think. But what happens if the 1st play results in no yardage: That is, not a sack and no positive yardage? Nobody wins? Everybody wins? See my confusion? Ok, let's use the same scenario as a sack then - if the first play yields zero or negative yards, we use second play. The original rules I drafted (keeping in mind it took me 6 minutes this morning before a meeting) required positive yardage, so a sack, no gain or loss (or call back on penalty) is a "do over" and we'll use second play. Damn, can't believe giving away two free hats is such a chore. Typical Bills Fans always bellyaching!!

You will notice others didn't complain, but it's clear some didn't understand, based on a number of their guesses.

Good luck, dude's an effing lawyer. lol...Dean is giving me so much **** it feels like I'm drafting articles of organization for an LLC. . Maybe I should file for 501©(3) status. Just kidding Dean...put in a guess. I'm good for it. But make note of my post further down page 1...if more than one person have the same guess, I'll buy hats for the first two. Choose wisely. OldTimer1960 Posted September 5, 2014 Posted September 5, 2014 EJ Manuel fake hand off and he Manuel runs for 5 yards.
bills_fan_in_raleigh Posted September 5, 2014 Posted September 5, 2014 Handoff to Fred for three off the left side.
freeagentqb Posted September 5, 2014 Posted September 5, 2014 No no no.... CJ spiller right for 2 yards. Up the Middle for 3 will be the second play. This is eerily correct based on verifiable history.....
K D Posted September 5, 2014 Posted September 5, 2014 CJ Spiller up the middle for 2 yards This. And that's why we have to fire our OC
kevharv Posted September 6, 2014 Posted September 6, 2014 EJ fumbles the snap and is too late to hand off the ball to Spiller who collides whith EJ in the backfield, after much indicision EJ gets chased out of bounds for a gain of nearly 1-yard. And so our season begins. Oy...
Augie Posted September 6, 2014 Posted September 6, 2014 CJ Spiller up the middle for 2 yards Do you mean "initially up the middle", or really up the middle. where it.... you know, stays up the middle?
The Dean Posted September 6, 2014 Posted September 6, 2014 This. And that's why we have to fire our OC Exactly. No other OC ever calls that play to begin a game. So, if the play is something other than that, the OC can keep his job?
thebandit27 Posted September 6, 2014 Posted September 6, 2014 Do you mean "initially up the middle", or really up the middle. where it.... you know, stays up the middle? Yes, yes I do. Also, that's what she said?
Delusional Bills Optimist Posted September 6, 2014 Posted September 6, 2014 Hard play action fake into bootleg roll-out, intermediate level pass to Woods, long run after catch. 28 yard gain. (Drive stalls after successive holding and illegal formation penalties, resulting in a punt from mid-field)
K D Posted September 6, 2014 Posted September 6, 2014 (edited) Exactly. No other OC ever calls that play to begin a game. So, if the play is something other than that, the OC can keep his job? Ohhh I guess you got me there. Burnnnnn Hackett has already proven to be completely incompetent at play calling (redzone offense anyone?) and running CJ on the shotgun handoff up the middle play 15 times a game isn't going to get it done. Perhaps some more inspiring play calling is in order. Call me crazy but getting the ball to one of the fastest RB's in the league in space makes more sense than slamming him straight ahead into the line for 2 yards Edited September 6, 2014 by kdiggz
Augie Posted September 6, 2014 Posted September 6, 2014 (edited) Also, that's what she said? And she's probably highly motivated to keep it properly up the middle.... Edited September 6, 2014 by Augie
