No need for a guy like Grossman unless EJ or Orton get hurt. You want a starter with franchise potential, a veteran backup who can just step in and play, and you want a young developmental guy if you keep three, with some clear upside so if he reaches his potential he can be a starter or a reliable veteran backup.

Please don't say EJ is not that guy, we have all already seen the future and we know what happens in two years. We now, thankfully, have the second type. For some unfathomable reason someone who counts in the Bills org thinks Tuel is the third kind and he is on the PS. If we are going to sign anyone, it should be a young guy with some arm talent and clear upside. Or even a wildcard guy like Pryor with a clear skill.

There is no need for a veteran journeyman after yesterday.

I would have preferred Rex over Orton. Orton has checked out at this point in his career.

I agree with this. A player considering retirement has already retired.

I'd much rather see the Bills pick up Rex simply because he is the better player at this point.

Totally disagree on this. Rex was simply abysmal whenever he took the field with Washington in the last few seasons. There's a reason why Rex was unemployed this preseason until he was recently signed by the Browns. Orton is a competent NFL QB and a much better alternative as a backup QB, IMO of course.
