That doesn't mean he was almost traded to the Bills. It's possible he was, but that statement doesn't make that claim. It could just be the Patriots calling the Bills are saying are you interested. The Bills saying for what? The Pats asking for a #2. The Bills calling Buddy Nix and asking if he recognizes the voice of this crank caller. Then hanging up. The pats trying again and asking for a three. The Bills hanging up on them. The Pats calling back and saying how about a four? The Bills laughing and then hanging up. The Pats trying a five. The Bills saying how about a 5 in 2067. The Pats calling back and asking for a sixth. The Bills saying how about you throw in a sixth with Mallet and we'll give you Kamar Aiken again. That could be in discussions with the Patriots.

Tim Graham @ByTimGraham 31s One source tells me Bills considered Mallett internally. But another source tells me no actual trade talks occurred. Focused on Orton.
White Linen Posted August 31, 2014 Posted August 31, 2014 I just like that we you hear our front office working, instead of why wouldn't we at least consider that player. It's like they do what makes sense. A lot of us were like why are we not going after Orton - then it turns out we were the whole time and did. We should sign Brandon Spikes - we did, we should sign Pepper Johnson, we did. etc etc etc
