26CornerBlitz Posted August 31, 2014 Posted August 31, 2014 (edited) @RapSheet Ryan Mallett has been traded to the #Texans, source says Edited August 31, 2014 by 26CornerBlitz
YoloinOhio Posted August 31, 2014 Posted August 31, 2014 Interesting. Seems like this has been in the works forever. Fitzy to the bench?
17 Josh Allen Posted August 31, 2014 Posted August 31, 2014 Yup for 1 snickers bar and 2 pieces of chewed Gum. The Cheetriots always get over
mitchmurraydowntown Posted August 31, 2014 Posted August 31, 2014 When our QB's leave the team, they're career is essentially over as a starter.
26CornerBlitz Posted August 31, 2014 Author Posted August 31, 2014 (edited) @jeffphowe The Patriots had trade discussions with the Texans, Cowboys and Bills, per source. Edited August 31, 2014 by 26CornerBlitz
YoloinOhio Posted August 31, 2014 Posted August 31, 2014 @jeffphowe The Patriots had trade discussions with the Texans, Cowboys and Bills, per source. but this FO had no interest in upgrading the Backup QB position at all!! Oh.
Wayne Cubed Posted August 31, 2014 Posted August 31, 2014 @jeffphowe The Patriots had trade discussions with the Texans, Cowboys and Bills, per source. Interesting. If I had to guess this was due diligence when looking for a backup QB when it was just Lewis and Tuel, but they obviously weren't willing to give up a lot and I'm sure the Pats* wanted a lot it Mallet was traded within the division.
26CornerBlitz Posted August 31, 2014 Author Posted August 31, 2014 @JasonPhilCole Expect #Texans to release QB Case Keenum. Coach bill O'Brien spent a lot of time with rookie tom savage during training camp.
chris heff Posted August 31, 2014 Posted August 31, 2014 Does anyone know what the Pats got in the trade?
17 Josh Allen Posted August 31, 2014 Posted August 31, 2014 Per league sources it was a 6th round pick

PlayoffsPlease Posted August 31, 2014 Posted August 31, 2014 Mallet is going to be a good player. Patriots wouldn't have been able to afford to pay him after this season. Savage and Mallet. This is a good example of filling a pipeline with legitimate hopefuls (you know not second stringers from Washington st. and undertalented guys like thad lewis and dixon)
YoloinOhio Posted August 31, 2014 Posted August 31, 2014 Per league sources it was a 6th round pick yikes. They invested a 4th.
17 Josh Allen Posted August 31, 2014 Posted August 31, 2014 So the hoodie got took. I think they used a 3rd Round pick on him. He got a 6th round pick in return. That a boy Bill
YoloinOhio Posted August 31, 2014 Posted August 31, 2014 So the hoodie got took. I think they used a 3rd Round pick on him. He got a 6th round pick in return. That a boy Bill oops you're right. Even worse. I always mix that one up with the cousins pick.
17 Josh Allen Posted August 31, 2014 Posted August 31, 2014 The cheetriots got tired of fishing the just cut bait And ran. At least the Texans have a QB that can throw the ball over 20 yards and hit a receiver. Watch out Bills we will have to play a real QB When they play the texans

This is a good example of filling a pipeline with legitimate hopefuls (you know not second stringers from Washington st. and undertalented guys like thad lewis and dixon) That's why he was a 3rd round pick, played lousy most of the time he played in preseason, was beat out by a rookie and then traded for a #6 pick. And yes, I did know and took into consideration they were going to lose him next year. They were going to lose him because they didn't want him. Edited August 31, 2014 by Kelly the Dog
Miyagi-Do Karate Posted August 31, 2014 Posted August 31, 2014 So the hoodie got took. I think they used a 3rd Round pick on him. He got a 6th round pick in return. That a boy Bill The problem is they never properly showcased him. If he had a rob johnson-like or Matt Flynn-like 1 game start, they might have gotten a high Pick for him.
G-Daddy Posted August 31, 2014 Posted August 31, 2014 When our QB's leave the team, they're career is essentially over as a starter. Sometimes we don't have to wait until they leave our team.
Ramius Posted August 31, 2014 Posted August 31, 2014 Per league sources it was a 6th round pick Bill belicheat and the pats* are a bunch of geniuses. See how they turned a 3rd round pick on a QB that they didn't need into a higher draft pick? Oh wait...
