PlayoffsPlease Posted August 25, 2014 Posted August 25, 2014 Watching the replay of the Seahawks and Bears preseason game. The Seahawks are leading 31-0 in the third quarter and Russell Wilson is still playing. I have been a Bills fan for 40 years and there are lot of people who speak as if they have the authority of God behind them to say that "the only thing that matters is coming out of preseason game without injuries" Now I am not the smartest guy in the world, but the Seahawks just won the Super Bowl, so I am going to say Pete Carroll understands what to do with preseason better than I do. So why is Pete Carroll still playing his starters in this situation?
nucci Posted August 25, 2014 Posted August 25, 2014 and if he did get hurt, the question would be why is Wilson playing in a preseason game when up 31-0. No right or wrong.
Luxy312 Posted August 25, 2014 Posted August 25, 2014 and if he did get hurt, the question would be why is Wilson playing in a preseason game when up 31-0. No right or wrong. This 100%. Same thing happened to Vick in the preseason early in his career. Snapped leg leads to question as to why he's even in there in the first place. So Carrol may be trying to get his guys mentality into the regular season such that they don't have a Superbowl hangover. It is the exception to the rule though.
Dorkington Posted August 25, 2014 Posted August 25, 2014 I personally think the starters don't play enough in pre-season. First couple weeks in the NFL often look kinda sloppy to me.

Our starters are so bad that Brandon doesn't want our starters playing much in the preseason otherwise no game will sell out once week 1 starts...
PlayoffsPlease Posted September 5, 2014 Author Posted September 5, 2014 Maybe Pete Carroll knows what he is doing by playing well in preseason.
