26CornerBlitz Posted September 1, 2014 Posted September 1, 2014 @MatthewFairburn Doug Marrone said you'll be surprised by how quickly Kyle Orton will be able to pick up the offense.
K-9 Posted September 1, 2014 Posted September 1, 2014 @MatthewFairburn Doug Marrone said you'll be surprised by how quickly Kyle Orton will be able to pick up the offense. No I won't. GO BILLS!!!
YoloinOhio Posted September 1, 2014 Posted September 1, 2014 (edited) A positive about having orton in the film room this week is that he prepared for the Bears last year and it is the same DC. Same will be true for the lions, GB, SD, Denver, KC and Raiders games, all whom the cowboys played last season. Vikes have a new D (but we did prep for Zimmer's D last year when he was in Cincy) Edited September 1, 2014 by YoloinOhio
Wayne Cubed Posted September 1, 2014 Posted September 1, 2014 @buffalobills: Orton: "My role on this team is a backup. Job No. 1 is to help EJ" That's gonna ruin some posters wet dreams...
Reed83HOF Posted September 1, 2014 Posted September 1, 2014 @MatthewFairburn Doug Marrone said you'll be surprised by how quickly Kyle Orton will be able to pick up the offense. We have 4 plays and he's a vet....I wouldn't expected it to be too difficult
YoloinOhio Posted September 1, 2014 Posted September 1, 2014 We have 4 plays and he's a vet....I wouldn't expected it to be too difficult yet it's no longer the PS so the 4 plays comment isn't accurate.

H2o Posted September 1, 2014 Posted September 1, 2014 @buffalobills: Orton: "My role on this team is a backup. Job No. 1 is to help EJ" That's gonna ruin some posters wet dreams... Until EJ sprains a knee ligament doing his "crip walk" in the endzone and Orton comes in to run an effective offense with the same exact players.
Dean Cain Posted September 1, 2014 Posted September 1, 2014 Comparing Orton's first 10 games to EJ's Kyle Orton: Age 23 - 7 wins 3 losses, 145/264 54.92%, 1389 yards, 8 tds, 11 ints, 16 rushes 17 yards 0 tds EJ Manuel: Age 23 - 4 wins 6 losses, 180/306 58.82%, 1972 yards, 11 tds, 9 ints, 53 rushes 186 yards 2 tds

Wayne Cubed Posted September 1, 2014 Posted September 1, 2014 It's amazing how much better Orton and his team were with 4 fewer percentage points of completion %, fewer YPA, more turnovers than TDs, and less effective scrambling ability. Bears had the # 1 defense that year (2005), allowed only 12.6 points per game.
RuntheDamnBall Posted September 1, 2014 Posted September 1, 2014 Bears had the # 1 defense that year (2005), allowed only 12.6 points per game. But it's all about the QB.
Dean Cain Posted September 1, 2014 Posted September 1, 2014 But it's all about the QB. Being able to control the lines on offense and defense is a highly underrated ability. Think that Seattle team wins the SB without those 2 ingredients?
Reed83HOF Posted September 1, 2014 Posted September 1, 2014 yet it's no longer the PS so the 4 plays comment isn't accurate. Lighten up Francis - it was a joke
Dean Cain Posted September 1, 2014 Posted September 1, 2014 I'm waiting for the EJ bashers to say "But Orton played in a different era." smh
3rdand12 Posted September 1, 2014 Posted September 1, 2014 We have 4 plays and he's a vet....I wouldn't expected it to be too difficult Hey ! Its five plays and i am have been working on a 6th !I am saving them for the season . Nate
Augie Posted September 1, 2014 Posted September 1, 2014 I think after 8 seasons we have a pretty good idea what we have in Orton and I think he'll catch on fairly quickly. EJ was not drafted for what he did at FSU, or for what he's done here to date, but for what he could become. Everyone can have an opinion, but we have yet to see how this is going to turn out. I've got my concerns, but my fingers are crossed and I'm hoping for the best! And I won't find myself unemployed if I'm wrong! I love his maturity, work ethic, size and overall attitude. Hey ! Its five plays and i am have been working on a 6th ! I am saving them for the season . Nate Nate, let me guess: Are you working on running play number 5 to the opposite side? Do you think you can have that ready by the bye week?
26CornerBlitz Posted September 1, 2014 Posted September 1, 2014 @mikerodak Kyle Orton on Bills offense: “Good coaches, good players, good young talent, good starting quarterback."
