Swift Boat Liars

The Swift boat Verterans for Truth, the age old group of G.O.P. Liars dedicated to smear campaigns and deceipt have been brought into the light for what they are. Liars. They never served with Kerry, at least not within 100 yards of his boat. And the're statements have been proven to be lies regarding Kerry's service, wounds, and recounts of combat.

These disgusting people have no shame.

How about the spurious claim for Kerry to have been in Cambodiia for Christmas?

He never was. It's been proven that Kerry lied about this...

But you'll never see it in the mainstream press, because they are in Kerry's pocket. Those ketchup funds buy more than those cheesy Haliburton funds don't they?

It worked, thanks SIC!! Next I'll try smilies!!! Then...who knows...maybe an Avatar!!! Calm down BD take it easy, one step at a time.

Ok this one has been driveing me nuts for a while. lets get a few things straight here. First of all i am not done reading the book yet but from what I have read so far, I do not see this as a GOP smear group at all. Here are a few points to consider:

1) There are 254 vets who have contributed to this book. Are they all part of the great right wing conspiracy? I don't think so.

2) These guys were actually there, just like johhny they served thier country. They have earned the right to say thier peace IMHO.

3) kerry made this an issue by apprantly lieing about the events (or at least exagerating them grossly). These guys would be remise if they stood by and allowed kerry to get away with it.

4) lets not forget that these soldiers are the same guys that kerry accused of all types of war crimes and put them all in a pool of guys who may or may not have done some bad things. Again, I say that they more then anyone else have the right to rebut what kerry has made the centerpiece of his campaign.

5) If kerry wants to talk up his participation in these events, why then should these other 254 men be silenced? What is kerry trying to say? He made a quote earlier today that basically said "this group did not even exist until after my noimination"...welll duhhh thats when you started telling these lies pal. What did he expect?, that they would sit around and let him lie.

6) By the way, johhny was there for 4 months, most of not all of these guys were there for the entire 12 months or more...I think they have a pretty good perspective on this issue.

Bottom line, their voice matters, just the same way as that fat pig mikey moores voice matters. If kerry does not want such ads, and he wants them condemed, maybe he should start with some of the left wing hate groups who have been feasting on GWB's butt for the past year or more. America hates whinners, and I think that kerry is being exposed as a big time whinner. He will not win useing these types of tactics.

Which of the FIVE versions that Kerry and his people have put out is correct???

Kerry can put an end to all this by releasing ALL his military records.

At least they EXIST and weren't convieniently 'lost'.

I SEVERELY DOUBT that Kerry could catch up to Bush in the NUMEROUS times that he has had documents lost, sealed, or denied to the public for reasons of national security (ENERGY meetings.. COUGH COUGH)

As far as I am concerned, I can obviously trust Kerry a HECK of a lot more right now. He doesn't need a smear campaign to nail Bush.... he's done SO many things wrong that people see it and don't buy the empty rhetoric anymore.

How do we know until we see them? :)

The big question is will it take as long as it took to "find" the "complete" "original", "undoctored", Rose law firm records

LBG,

Don't have to do more than read Kerry's own Biography, the congressional record or listen to him on Meet the Press...http://msnbc.msn.com/ID/4772030/

(Videotape, MEET THE PRESS, April 18, 1971):

MR. KERRY (Vietnam Veterans Against the War): There are all kinds of atrocities and I would have to say that, yes, yes, I committed the same kind of atrocities as thousands of other soldiers have committed in that I took part in shootings in free-fire zones. I conducted harassment and interdiction fire. I used 50-caliber machine guns which we were granted and ordered to use, which were our only weapon against people. I took part in search-and-destroy missions, in the burning of villages. All of this is contrary to the laws of warfare.

"Mr. President, I remember Christmas of 1968 sitting on a gunboat in Cambodia. I remember what it was like to be shot at by the Vietnamese and Khmer Rouge and Cambodians, and have the president of the United States telling the American people that I was not there; the troops were not in Cambodia. I have that memory which is seared -— seared -— in me, that says to me, before we send another generation into harm's way we have a responsibility in the U.S. Senate to go the last step, to make the best effort possible in order to avoid that kind of conflict." [see Congressional Record - Senate of March 27, 1986, page 3594]

Did I miss something or are you sayning Kerry is part of the RNC spin gang?:)

Since when is harrassment or interdiction, or firing a .50-cal, an atrocity contrary to the laws of warfare? Someone PLEASE show me where the Geneva Conventions or any other article of international law describes the .50-cal Browning as an illegal weapon, or interdiction as a war crime.

I'd have to look it up, but the cal. 50 is considered an anti material weapon. Not supposed to be used on troops in the open. Ok to use on troops in a truck. Go figure. We always took a kind of "yeah, well..." attitude towards it. The guys with the green tracers didn't feel to many qualms about their 12.7 mm's either. Tit for tat. I've never, ever heard it brought up as an issue. Kerry's 1970's statements though, are leaning on the letter of the law for political gain. This issue will never get resolved to anyone's satisfaction here-Kerry was not the first, nor will he be the last to embellish for a medal-but painting his fellows with the nasty brush is pretty unforgiveable in my book.

You got people out there that have been policeman (Tenny?). Isn't there a little bit of an honor code among the thin blue line? Soldiers have it too. What gets done here, what gets said here-stays here. I'm sorry boys and girls, but if you are getting your ass torn apart from a machine gun nest shooting out of an orphanage, chances are that you call a fire mission if that's the only way. A combat leader's prime responsibilities are to accomplish the mission at hand and look out for the welfare of those under their command. sometimes that conflicts with what others might consider right or wrong. We used to have a thing called recon by fire. accepted practice-and sound. You think the bad guy is somewhere, you probe with grazing fire until something shoots back. Then you nail it. To coin a line from "Platoon"..."There's the way it ought to be-and there's the way it is".
