Jerry Jabber Posted August 24, 2014 Posted August 24, 2014 Two weeks in a row, the Bills secondary has been shredded by two different starting QB's. With the run D improved, teams are throwing it more and so far the secondary looks like a big weakness on the team.
Coach Tuesday Posted August 24, 2014 Posted August 24, 2014 We let our Pro Bowl safety walk over a few million bucks. It's not a surprise.
Reed83HOF Posted August 24, 2014 Posted August 24, 2014 New DB rules are going to hurt many teams Pass D....

Coach Tuesday Posted August 24, 2014 Posted August 24, 2014 Yeah bc he would make a difference in Gilmore not being able to cover and Brpoks doing his best Rogets impersonation Our safety play has been abysmal.

djp14150 Posted August 24, 2014 Posted August 24, 2014 Before you blame people ask yourself what defense scheme was beng played. Last week on that long td, duke Williams( u believe) blew his coverage assignment Today the CBs were playing zone where the CBs play underneath assuming safety help.

You will notice similar stats in terms of making a lot of completions and yards, etc. The ticky-tack illegal contact calls are going to make pass defense across the league suffer. All in all, though, I'm not worried about the pass defense. Edited August 24, 2014 by purple haze

Correct, and the Bucs were exploiting the slow transitions by our safeties.
Dorkington Posted August 24, 2014 Posted August 24, 2014 I think we are going to fully depend on getting pressure. Gilmore doesn't have the speed to make up for the new rules changes, and McKelvin has never been that good. Graham is a little slow, as well. And Robey is a small guy (who makes plays, thank god). Our Safety situation is a bit inconsistent as well. We *need* to get constant pressure on opposing QBs, its just that simple.
PromoTheRobot Posted August 24, 2014 Posted August 24, 2014 We let our Pro Bowl safety walk over a few million bucks. It's not a surprise. I don't recall Mr. Pussyfoot making much of a difference.
Big Blitz Posted August 24, 2014 Posted August 24, 2014 New DB rules are going to hurt many teams Pass D.... Except the ones playing us apparently. *rimshot

SJDK Posted August 24, 2014 Posted August 24, 2014 (edited) Robey at safety, Graham as nickel corner. Robey is like bob sanders back in the day. Bam Edited August 24, 2014 by SJDK
Reed83HOF Posted August 24, 2014 Posted August 24, 2014 Except the ones playing us apparently. *rimshot Of course provided their QB actually throws the ball down field instead of checking down
Dean Cain Posted August 24, 2014 Posted August 24, 2014 First down is the most important down, and we got hammered on 1st down.

With the run D improved, teams are throwing it more and so far the secondary looks like a big weakness on the team. Last week it was two weeks. Now it's two weeks again? I guess that is your way of agreeing that Kelvin Benjamin's catch was insane. You're seriously going to call the 112 yard 1TD and 1Int performance of Josh McCown "shredded"? It was Mike Evans that beat up Ron Brooks for the TD, not a certain starter you love. There are many things to worry about with this team. The pass defense doesn't look like it is very high on the list; if it is on the list at all.

ganesh Posted August 24, 2014 Posted August 24, 2014 We let our Pro Bowl safety walk over a few million bucks. It's not a surprise. I believe our former pro-bowl safety chose to walk away. He did not want to play in Buffalo.
thebandit27 Posted August 24, 2014 Posted August 24, 2014 What did I miss? TB scored 24 points, and 17 of them came off turnovers. The other 7 was a likely cut (Ron Brooks) being incapable of covering.
