"Rai told The AP on Wednesday he's not involved with the group's ownership bid. He added the references connecting him to the proposed Bills' purchase were "a mistake on my behalf," and the result of a misinterpretation made by a co-worker who wrote the biography."

Roger Rai is a consultant for the Rogers group. he claims they wrote a biography on him and that he was incorrectly identified as

Part of the group bidding on the Bills. he says he is not part of the group bidding on the bIlls and it is a mistake.

And for those buying that, I've got some bridges to sell..... anyone?

If you believe that, let's talk Bridges.

Have you ever wanted to own your own bridge?

I can make you a great deal but you have to act now.

How does one misinterpret that?

Are you part of the group trying to bid and move the Bills? Yes/No. There really is no in between.

The first response, "Uh, Uh Clerical Error. Yeah thats the ticket."

I'm sure there will be a second round of better excuses coming soon.

I'm still confused as to what the story is? Toronto was never an option if they were going to win the bid. They either deviated from those plans or they have just been in to drive the price up. There was NEVER a way that they were going to win the bid and move the team to Toronto. It was never an option.

I think this is essentially a non story because it's likely old news. They always did want to move the team to Toronto, why the hell wouldn't they. They probably did, until a few months ago, believe that they could not only win the bid but get out of the lease somehow and move the team. Which is when a lot of this stuff happened, like the scouting stadium sites. Tim Lieweke was brought specifically to help get an NFL team to Toronto. Osama Bon Jovi was brought in and partnered up specifically to get a team to Toronto.

Once the actual process started, however, they ran into an impenetrable dead end. They didn't know it would be impossible to move the team to Toronto for eight years and maybe for a lot more than that. So they changed their tune about staying in Buffalo a couple months ago, because if they didn't they may as well just pack it in.

What they're doing now if just to save face so they don't look bad the next time they may try to get a team, and Osama Bon Jovi can still try to get a franchise down the line. They're doing a favor to the trust and the nfl and Morgan Stanley to try to jack the price up a bit for Pegula. Knowing they have no chance.

But a) they are never going to say they still want to bring a team to Toronto, b) all of this coming out was back when they still did want to and thought they had a chance, and c) they never ever had any chance they just didn't know that.

It might be possible for a inquisitive journalist to find out if this Rai guy signed a NDA or not.

I get the sense that the Toronto group continues to participate to make sure the NFL knows they're serious about someday acquiring a franchise, like Sharif Khan the Jag's owner did with his initial bid for the Rams.

Sort of a pre-vetting for the next time a team comes on the market....

Buy 2 and I'll throw in the shipping and handling free, all you pay is the processing for the second bridge

It's great that it is getting reported and out though

I said almost the identical thing over in the team sale thread.

I should've just linked to your posts here.
