BillsShredder83 Posted August 14, 2014 Posted August 14, 2014 Hey guys im not sure where to put this so mods please feel free to move this if needed. My girlfriend and I are going to make the voyage down to Miami for the Thursday night game. Does anyone know of any Bills Backer Bars down there that we can go to, looking for something to do the night before the game? Also, if you have been to Sunlife Stadium and have any suggestions of other things to do down there that would be great! It will be my first away game and im really excited! Thanks everyone
It's in My Blood Posted August 14, 2014 Posted August 14, 2014 Packeys in Lighthouse Point is a great Bills Bar, but its about a 35 minute drive to Sunlife.
RCOHEN13 Posted August 14, 2014 Posted August 14, 2014 I'm always looking 4 someone to go to games with. I do only get premium seats which can be 250-300 per though, but I sit around 50, 5-10 rows up on Bills sideline everytime... Let me know if u r interested! I dont know many Bills fan down here and i live in Boca Raton which is approx 45 min North of Stadium.
BillsShredder83 Posted August 14, 2014 Author Posted August 14, 2014 Its going to be a pretty important weekend for me and the lady. Im pretty sure im going to pop the question while im down there. Im really trying to find things to do that will help make it an even more memorable event!

BillsShredder83 Posted August 14, 2014 Author Posted August 14, 2014 There are some hotel & airfare combos that we were looking at in South Beach. Definitely beach people. Any recommendations?

Thanks everyone Went to a Braves/Marlins game back when the Fla Marlins still played there. Not a lot to do around the stadium IIRC. There is a casino I do believe. It was kind of dropped in the middle of housing developments. I would use google earth and just kind of look around.
Maury Ballstein Posted August 14, 2014 Posted August 14, 2014 Miami is packed full of stuff to do. If you are gonna pop the question then splurge on a nice upscale hotel in south beach. Mawwwwwwwwiage. Not a fan myself too many hot Latin girls running around Florida. Wives are a bore.

Nice boutique hotel across the street from the Delano, not too expensive but very nice. I'll come up with the name. Stay away from restaurants on Ocean Dr. mostly tourist traps. Your better off on Lincoln Rd. The Gale South Beach on Collins, had to use the Google to come up with it. Edited August 14, 2014 by chris heff
BillsShredder83 Posted August 14, 2014 Author Posted August 14, 2014 Thanks Chris this was the type of advice i was looking for
FireChan Posted August 14, 2014 Posted August 14, 2014 Sitting behind the away bench at Sunlife means you'll be in the sun all game. Plan accordingly.

RalphOP83 Posted August 14, 2014 Posted August 14, 2014 (edited) Stay in lauderdale near las olas on A1A... Check out the intercostal water taxi it is an unbeliecable experience... Takes u from the beach right downtown with many stops along the way... A little town called "lauderdale by the sea" is a must do... South beach is a day trip for me but I prefer lauderdale and the stadium is actually in lauderdale Edited August 14, 2014 by RalphOP83

Fort Lauderdale is in Browaed.
chris heff Posted August 14, 2014 Posted August 14, 2014 Sun won't be set at 7. Game is 11/13 at 8:25 pm. The sun will be down. Advice is good none the less have watched many games from that sunny side and it can be painful.

Correct I was thinking of the hockey arena... I guess my point was that one can get to the stadium just as easily from lauderdale as they can from south beach...my subjective preference after many trips is lauderdale
Orlando Buffalo Posted August 14, 2014 Posted August 14, 2014 It is not cheap but if you are Marriott member, as I am, the Eden Roc is a Marriott on Collins Ave on Miami Beach and is ridiculously nice. It has a nice restaurant inside it and has beautiful pools and beaches. I would recommend Miami Beach over south Beach since South Beach can be loud late into night and Miami Beach gets quiet around 8 or night each night.
