The Wiz Posted August 2, 2014 Posted August 2, 2014 Not really a remake but a mashup that I always find entertaining.
BUFFALOKIE Posted August 2, 2014 Posted August 2, 2014 The new Body Count remake of Suicidal Tendencies Institutionalized kills me - great stuff if you identified with the original back in the day... Funny. At work just the other day, a couple of guys, my boss and myself were BS'ing, and someone said I was crazy. I started into "All I wanted was a Pepsi...and "I'm not crazy! You're the one that's crazy!" They didn't get it, and I think it just solidified their opinion of me. It's fun to be considered the wild child at work ;-)

Got my tickets for Slayer/Exodus/Suicidal Tendencies in November already.
truth on hold Posted August 3, 2014 Posted August 3, 2014 Metallica's "garage inc" has a number including bread fan, the small hours, and damage case
BUFFALOKIE Posted August 4, 2014 Posted August 4, 2014 (edited) Metallica's "garage inc" has a number including bread fan, the small hours, and damage case Good call. Bread Fan is kickass. Another by Metallica - Stone Cold Crazy - Freddy Mercury did it first, but worst. Edited August 4, 2014 by THE KIKO MONSTER
RuntheDamnBall Posted August 4, 2014 Posted August 4, 2014 I actually have a soft-spot for the Ministry version of "Lay Lady Lay." Weird video though. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=npeYMJIbY8o And Pantera doing "Planet Caravan" is also pretty good, though it's the least metal that both bands ever seem to get.

Pantera's "Planet Caravan" is excellent, but it's nearly an identical cover. Which I'm not complaining about, because it's one of my favorite Sabbath tunes and they did it incredible justice!!!

Two standouts: Megadeth's version of paranoid: And white zombie's version of Children of the Grave
truth on hold Posted August 6, 2014 Posted August 6, 2014 Ghost BC did a haunting and infectious metal cover of ABBA's "Marionette".
Azalin Posted August 6, 2014 Posted August 6, 2014 Ghost BC did a haunting and infectious metal cover of ABBA's "Marionette". not to mention 'here comes the sun' as well as 'if you have ghosts'. I saw them this past May, and was surprised at how good they were live. so many bands nowadays only sound good in the studio and fall well short of their own sound in a live setting. not Ghost....if you ever get the chance they're worth checking out.
The Poojer Posted August 6, 2014 Posted August 6, 2014 not sure if you consider AC/DC as metal but this cover has been making the social media rounds the past couple days, one of the cool things is this is a finnish band

Pine Barrens Mafia Posted August 6, 2014 Author Posted August 6, 2014 apparently this banjo metal thing isn't all that uncommon: I give you "The Trooper"
Pine Barrens Mafia Posted August 6, 2014 Author Posted August 6, 2014 Amazingly, some of these songs REALLY work banjo-ified...

Would like to see them live. The costumes would be a nice break from the usual black T-shirt, jeans, wallet with chain, construction boots uniform of most metal bands.
