When all is said and done, Bradham gets what he deserves for being a blockhead. Whether it's 1 game, 4 games or the entire season (which guys have gotten for multiple offenses), they KNOW the rules going into their bad decision making. Did I try that stuff in college 25 years ago? Sure. Once I started being employed for "real" and was under a contract with my employer, I understood that random drug testing was a real possibility. The likely repercussions for me violating MY employment agreement is getting fired. That's it in a nutshell.

I get the points regarding disparity of punishment, but a quick refresher on the facts is important. Bradham was arrested for possession. He handed the bag of weed to a police officer. In all likelihood, Rice did in fact knock out his girlfriend, but he was not arrested and she declined to press any charges. So, one guy getting arrested gets a one game suspension and another guy not getting arrested gets a two game suspension. It's easy to get caught up in the idea that a players action that hurts someone else is more egregious than an action that hurts themselves. Remember Plaxico Burress? Shot HIMSELF in the leg and was suspended for a year. Clearly the NFL's tolerance for rule breaking falls way way off when a player breaks the law, and it should.

What makes you think there is no tape of the elevator brawl?

There is only tape of after whatever happened happened. I.e. he can be seen pulling her out of the elevator, but nothing before that.

Was Bradham actually arrested or just pulled over? I just read an article that said he had such a small amount he wasn't arrested. But that might be inaccurate.

This just makes no sense in my opinion. If there are no charges, or they are dropped, it's as though the offense never happened. At least in the eyes of the law, and that is what Goodell should go on.

well, its a matter of opinion and the nfl disagrees. and has for years in their policy. another thing to note is that the nfl digs into this incidents too with their own legal team and investigators, so they are getting the facts. i would imagine they would argue that they want policy to be as consistent as possible, even if DAs are not.

if a guy walked into goodells office waving around bricks of cocaine, hed be suspended even if the police didnt arrest. a positive test is a suspension without arrest. if a guy does something blatant and the DA is a fan and lets him off - theres a good chance hes getting suspended.

if bradham has marijuana in his car, and the nfl is confident he had it - regardless of the DAs stance, its seems they are comfortable suspending him.

ray rice comparisons aside, i can see the merits of having their system not 100% rely on local law enforcement. its just tough to judge expectations as no one seems to do well with presenting precedent or tracking results across the league and years.

He was arrested and then took a plea to a lesser charge (possession).

citation issued, no arrest. he completed his program and it was dismissed.

the league still viewed it as "A player will normally be subject to discipline up to and including suspension without pay for four regular and/or post-season games for a first violation of the law related to substances of abuse other than alcohol..." but seem to have limited it to just 1 game because it was a small amount and he was cooperative.

i believe it was just citations for the window tint, and possession. no actual arrest. he then completed some sort of program to have the ticket dismissed.

but a ticket is still a violation of the law with regards to substances of abuse other than alcohol, it seems.

like ive said a few times, id be curious to see some apples to apples comparisons.

Same here. Just so bizarre that Bradham got a suspension on this.

im not shocked, but it is frustrating. frankly, i dont think many of us wouldve been shocked if he sat even more than 1 game last year (there were news articles about the possibility and many threads), but now that its a year later i think time (and kikos injury) shifted sentiment.

I haven't seen or heard of it anywhere.

Oh, because you haven't seen it, the Commissioner must have destroyed the only copy? That's...awesome.

The NJ prosecutors saw it. The cops saw it. Rice's lawyer saw it. And the NFL saw it too. You think the NJ prosecutor gave the sole copy of this crucial piece of evidence to the NFL to do with it whatever Goodell wanted?

The crazy runs as strong as ever...

I likewise can't provide a link, but every single thing that happens in a casino is recorded. every single thing. I find it hard to believe that video of whatever happened doesn't exist.

Everything in a casino (except for the bathrooms...I think/hope) is recorded. I heard some sports guys on the radio talking about how they can't find the footage of what happened in the elevator, did a search and couldn't find a single thing about it.

Oh. I hadn't heard that before, thanks. By the way i'm pretty sure they also don't record inside the rooms themselves, so don't be TOOO creeped out.

Yep, should have mentioned that as well. And let me add that when I heard the sports guys talking about it, they said that the NFL's excuse for only giving him 2 games was because no one knows what happened inside the elevator because the footage had somehow gone missing. Hence the reason for the search. But if there's a link talking about the footage, I'll stand corrected.

If Brown plays well, Bradham will have blown the opportunity of a lifetime for a little weed. Bradham may never get to start again, at least in Buffalo. He may be over his interest in weed, he may not, who knows. Ignorance can be cured, stupid is forever....I sure don't know which it is in this case.

Without a link , i thought the issue with Rice was on tape and was later removed with all talk of it squashed. What was left was the video of him dragging her. There were quotes from the casino that quickly were also squelched with in couple of days.

But irregardless folks. Ignore Ray Rice and the blasphemy that is the NFL lawbringers. Just set it aside.

Nigel got busted for pot. Got his appearance ticket. and got the plea deal after doing his therapy thing. He has done exactly as he should have done and complied .

Well done Nigel for using this to get focused about what you want from your life .

N Bradham got justful punishment from the NFL. A very prime example as to how the NFL should deal with these people , and kids really.

But there also is a ton of garbage the NFL doesnt deal with well at all.

/end thread

Read his quotes and listen to Marrones in regard to him. Also take notice he was listed as first string starter this year.

Marrone already punished him last year .

Certainly opens the door for Brown. Preston is one of my favorites to succeed. Damned fine kid . and when Alonso comes back Spikes is signed to a 3 year, Bills are stacked at LBs

Stacked i say !

I will go on record as Nigel Bradham is going to have a good year for us whether he starts or is packaged. And i look forward to watching Ty Powell ,

Keith Rivers , Brandon Spikes , Preston Brown a little Manny Lawson possibly and Randell maybe against the Bears .

Go Nigel !

I was under the impression that casino security and the DA each were simply smart enough not to sell the video to tabloids... Not that it didn't exist because I didn't see it.

Is there actually talk of it being destroyed? I genuinely haven't heard it, but didn't follow the aftermath all that closely.

That's what the sports radio guys I was listening to suggested.

I know you know that they sometimes say dumb stuff for attention on those shows. Was it a credible group?
