YoloinOhio Posted October 29, 2017 Author Posted October 29, 2017 lol yeah. Ohio State is trying to have "cool" uniforms as a recruiting tool. Unfortunately, their designer is from the 90s. They should pirate Oregon's uniform designers. I have never known so many shades and hues of green in awesome combinations. Outside of the two big plays don't you think Ohio State is doing better? I mean Pen State is giving up yards. Penn State just can't seem to stop anything Ohio State wants to do. Ohio State is the one stopping themselves. they have the same uni designers as Oregon. Nike. Its part of the Nike deal to use alternates twice a year. I love their traditional unis and dont like the alternates but the players and recruits love them. Quote
JohnC Posted October 29, 2017 Posted October 29, 2017 I love you, JT. Not a perfect QB but you are a fearless leader who never folds. This was a great game with a lot of nerve-racking big plays. The atmosphere was electric. Barrett played like he was on a mission. His last quarter performance with his laser accuracy in crucial situations was impressive. I thought the difference in this game was the Ohio State defensive line overwhelmed Penn. State's OL. The controversial play that was reviewed was properly overturned. It was a good catch by the receiver. What makes the Buckeyes' onslaught even more impressive was that even with what appeared to be a backbreaking setback the home team didn't despair, they became more determined. Talent is important but so is character. They deserved the win. Congratulations. Quote

The battle of the trenches went differently in this matchup last year - PSU DL absolutely owned OSU OL especially on the edge. OSU special teams was equally as bad in both games except for the huge blocked punt that I believe was the turning point last night. Denzel Ward is a dog. The refs were awful imo last night but I did agree with the overturned one (begrudgingly). But they missed a ton of holds, especially a block in the back on the Barkley TD run. The DPI on the first int in the end zone was crap as was the non-call when the PSU DB has his hand in the facemask of the OSU WR in the end Zone on a perfectly thrown ball. Those were two completely blown calls imo. Edited October 29, 2017 by YoloinOhio Quote
Willyville Guy Posted October 30, 2017 Posted October 30, 2017 I'm still recovering and hope the team is able to refocus this week. Weird things happen at Iowa every now and again. Quote

Ohio St @ Iowa stinks of a trap game Followed by Sparty and ending the season with Michigan B1G East isn't over yet. Ohio St and Sparty both control their own destiny. Penn St needs some help Quote

There were so many mistakes in the PSU game that the OSU coaches will have no problem making this a painful week of practice despite the big win last week. Fingers crossed. Quote
Kirby Jackson Posted November 4, 2017 Posted November 4, 2017 JT has the blinders on today. That’s scary!! After a great football weekend last weekend we may be getting humbled this week. Quote

Saw that coming but convinced myself it was not possible. Ohio State's best play was waving to the kids at Childrens Hospital after the first quarter. Not letting a kickoff go for a TD was also a win, sadly. I actually thought OSU was settling down and getting the game under control at one point, but then two Olinemen went down on consecutive plays resulting in two freshmen playing tackle. And then Bosa got ejected on a questionable targeting call. The Buckeyes just couldn't catch a break. Worse, it appears that everything we had hoped was fixed in the six weeks between OK and PSU--underthrown balls, dropped passes, and LB's getting gashed on underneath passing routes--was exposed as not fixed, and now a lack of discipline is a huge problem. 9 penalties for 95 yards is terrible. I was also upset to see JT as the leading ball carrier on the ground even though Dobbins was getting 9 yards a friggin carry. Seen that movie before. Everything that could possibly go right for Iowa went right, and everything that could possibly go wrong for OSU went wrong. Props to Ferentz for having his guys ready and adding to Iowa's lore of a tough, tough place to win a road game. Two very tough games coming up. Not sure what to expect. Go Bucks. 1 Quote
