Wtf

More amazing is that Ohio St. has never produced an NFL QB that had a solid career yet. Joe Burrow doesn’t count.

He still counts even though you say he doesn't.

Burrow doesn't count.  He played zero meaningful snaps at OSU. He is the product of LSU. Stroud has a chance to be the big OSU QB they have lacked in the NFL, but Burrow isn't it.

Another fun stat about this season is that the Buckeyes defense has allowed zero (zero!) passing touchdowns since the October 12 game against Oregon. Hopefully Denzel Burke has a redemption game in the Rose Bowl.

That game was by far their worst defensive performance of the season. Could simply be the opponent given the QB and talent, but they have made significant changes since so will be interesting to see the approach and performance this time

A few thoughts heading into the semis.

Holy Buckeye - that was incredible. Belt to a$$. The offense found huge gaps in the passing game, faster to the edges on the ground, controlled the los, and opened up a 34-0 second-quarter lead on the 13-0 #1 team in the land? Credit Oregon for winning the middle eight minutes, but they were already mortally wounded by a double-foot dropkick right to the face on offense. And the defense was flying around and hitting hard like a silver bullets defense should. Cody Simon looked like the second coming of (dare I say it) Darron Lee out there. Everyone deserves praise. I've wondered about Day, Chip, Frye, Knowles, and LJ at various times over the past few years, but this was a complete effort and total domination at the best time of year. Wow - Go F'n Bucks.

So has Day already done enough to keep his job? Probably, but what if they get smashed by the Longhorns?

Can the Buckeyes keep their edge for the next round? They were coming off an excruciating loss when they played Tennessee. Oregon was a revenge game. Playing in the semis shouldn't require any extra motivation but I'm wondering if they (coaches and players) will keep that chip on their shoulder next Friday.

They have had an edge for sure but tbh I think the Michigan loss was way more on the coaches and the game plan than anything with the players. Coaches Not playing to their strengths, obsessed with trying to prove they were tough and running into the strength of the Michigan DL ; not letting their absurd WR talent win for them.  As long as they keep doing what they are doing, they will beat anyone. It also took awhile for the OL to gel again after losing two all Americans to injury. I think the edge we are seeing now too is from these seniors who are now playing with a tremendous opportunity in front of them.  The buckeyes as an underdog are very scary, as a favorite not as much but they were favored bc Oregon and still came out like that. Will they beat Texas by 20 probably not, will they find a way to win, I could see it.

OSU will win if they continue to pass the ball.  It will all depend on Howard.  He is somewhat turnover prone, so if Texas can pressure him and not let give the receivers time to get open, then have a shot.  If they let them receivers run free, OSU wins by 10+.

Yeah, zero turnovers was another satisfying part about the Oregon game. Let’s keep that going.

He’s usually good for one bone headed play a game, I think bc they’ve gotten out to these big leads he hasn’t felt the pressure that has led to some of his picks etc. but I would say the same for Ewers, he likes to give it up

Ewers honestly has been bad lately.  Very careless with the ball.

I want to wish good luck to the Ohio State crowd, and I think that you will coast to victory.

I DID tell you how great Caleb Downs is lol, and I think that he will help steal the game vs. Texas, as much as I admire and respect Coack Sarkisian. Sark imo is the biggest advantage that Texas has and this is not to disrespect Day who I know little about. Sark is an offensive genius imo but OSU has enough to overpower Texas imo.

In any event, I think that if your QB holds up I expect an Ohio State romp, one on which I might even be moved to place a small wager on just for fun.

Again, good luck!!!

Downs is such a man amongst boys. They have been casually lining up at MLB sometimes. He returns punts too.I think they’ve realized throughout the season they have these “dudes” that are elite of the elite and just better than most college guys they are playing in terms of talent and football IQ, and that’s him and #4. So they are utilizing them as much as possible now that the goal is so close.

Yeah I hated to see Downs return punts. He was a standout his first day on the field as a freshman. He is a very smart player along with his talent.

i think that you guys will kick ass despite the genius of Sarkisian.
