Jeremiah Smith 5 for 35 yards.  That's a sick joke.

No cohesive offensive strategy, no balance, effort to establish Howard and his targets.

That was the worst coaching job on one side of the ball since 2018 when Harbaugh's DC played a base defense nonstop the entire game en route to getting blown out by OSU.

There's a lot to like about Ryan Day but it's no longer enough.  Chip Kelly to the rescue! Not.😂

Michigan forced OSU to have Will Howard beat them, and Howard proved that he is what he was at KSU......average.  He has more weapons than anyone in college football, but if you make him throw to win, he often can't.  He has "looked" great this year, but he always seemed to still have struggles against averahe to above average defenses, especially when he has to be one dimensional.

The coaching also proved that is wasn't McCord that was the problem.  Great job with a $20M roster.

You don’t want an opposing team celebrating on your turf, don’t lose to your rival who happened to be a 21 point underdog.  Bad sportsmanship. 👎🏻

Easiest bet in college football this year.

Anyone thinking Ohio State was going to win by more than one score was high. Michigan is their boogie man...

Would be like the Dolphins being favored by a huge spread against the Bills

You have a great point, I still can't absolve the coaching though.  Even the announcers knew how to beat that defense.  If you can't design your game plan appropriately with Howard then cycle in a QB who can.  The Michigan game is a job breaker.

Vrabel doesn't want to coach college. He hates recruiting and the NIL.

Yeah, Ohio State seems incapable of creating a passing game against decent opponents. Day was successful with CJ Stroud, but has now failed with McCord and Howard. Neither of those guys are Stroud, but Ohio State is always loaded with receiver talent, and that should mean something. It’s like Day enjoys old school Big Ten battles that emphasize defeating the opponent physically, but that plays exactly to Michigan’s strength.

Vrabel won’t come back to college. He hates recruiting and can’t imagine him dealing with NIL

Back to Brinks truck up

I don’t even think he would come back. The politics of this university  are not what he’s cut out for.

To me it almost feels like he is out to prove he is "tough."  The Lou Holtz thing almost broke him, because he is not on a mission to show everyone how tough they are.  He seems like an insecure little kid that has to do something when someone said they shouldn't.

Day is a great offensive coach, but he can't get out of his own way.  Play to your strengths, which is "finesse" football.  Instead he seems to try to play smashmouth football against a legitimate smashmouth team, and that doesn't work.

The emphasis on being the tough guy has long been my issue with the Big Ten conference. I always preferred watching Big 12, PAC 10/12 football for this reason. I found the addition of the west coast teams intriguing to counter this in the Big Ten. It’s great that a team like Oregon introduces a new style to that conference. I think it’s much needed.

The Big Ten supplies the NFL with exceptional offensive skill players, particularly many great receivers, but they aren’t always fully utilized in smash mouth Big Ten games. Ohio State historically seemed at their best when forced to open up the offense against high scoring SEC/Clemson opposition in bowl games. The conference matchups against Penn State and Michigan has been caveman football for years.

Vrabel doesn’t “hate” recruiting. He has said on the record that he enjoys building relationships with recruits and their families. I don’t know if he has ever publicly commented on the NIL.

That said, I doubt Ohio State fires Day. He keeps the money flowing with good recruiting and “getting close” every year.

I, as anybody was shocked that Michigan pulled it off.

Ohio state had their chances, but the Wolverines played the way they wanted and kept it close till the end and by that point, any FG was going to take it.

Ryan Cooper has done this consistently since taking over, and I was calling for him to be fired LAST season... He's a great recruiter who doesn't know how to properly utilize some of the best players in college football and I'm SICK OF IT. His shining moment was vs. UGA IN A LOSS... that was his best overall game plan AND HE STILL LOST.

How’s it going guys.  Ready to take down ROCKY TOP in couple weeks??

I don’t care where we play and almost rather go to Knoxville bc it’s less “windy” and maybe we will actually throw downfield to our 3 NFL 1st round WRS!!!!

no im not over the comment

Hopefully after 4 years, Day will realize he needs to turn the offense over to someone else.  I can imagine him being told that by the AD as a condition for staying, hopefully it happens that way.

Didn't he do that this year with Chip Kelly?

That's a fail.  Got to get it right.  UM rightfully fired their OC, I know they won, but one play action pass to a delayed tight end on that last goal line drive was a guaranteed touchdown.  Instead he had to try and bludgeon the best goal line D in the country.
