jkeerie Posted November 2 Posted November 2 Congrats to the Ohio State fans. As a Penn State fan, we just didn't have enough. PSU had its chances. That incredible INT in the endzone before the half was a killer! 1 1 Quote

Side note: My SIL recently took a surprise early retirement package from PSU after many years there. She loved it, but the package made too much sense for her. At one point she was in the major donor area and would know some stuff about Terry Pegula and his support of their hockey program. Not surprisingly, they like him. 😂 2 Quote

The Air Force sent me there for ROTC. (I had a degree from SUNY at Buffalo but was enlisted.) Anyway, I'll never forget seeing Joe Paterno in the hallway of one of the gym buildings. I was exiting one door and he was entering another. I just about stood at attention and said "Good Morning, Coach." He smiled back and wished me good morning before heading into an office. Unforgetable moment. 1 1 Quote

I almost knocked Ralph over once when I was turning a corner and he was coming out of the men’s room at the Creekview in Williamsville. OOPS! His little PopeMobile almost ran me over at the stadium the next day. I think he was trying to get even. That is my brush with Football Fame. 2 Quote
Willyville Guy Posted November 10 Posted November 10 Dave Biddle and Jonah Booker had an interesting discussion about the defense this past week on the Bucknuts Morning 5. They said after the Oregon game (and public criticism from Saban), Ryan Day made it clear that Jim Knowles is completely in charge of the defense--including LJ's line--and that's that. Since then that side of the ball seems to be much improved. Penn State said the defense did some exotic things up front in that game that were not on tape. Yesterday's shutout is obviously positive. Hopefully the defense continues this trend through November, December, and into January (please). It could also be an indicator that LJ is coming to the end of his time in Cbus. 1 Quote

Willyville Guy Posted Sunday at 04:06 PM Posted Sunday at 04:06 PM Say what you will about Ryan Day as a coach, but he understands the human/family side of college football. 1 Quote
