C.Biscuit97
Lynch got himself run out of Buffalo and was out of shape. I rooted for him and lost a ton of respect for him after a few of instances. That said, he should hold out & get every penny. It's probably his last chance at big money. The NFL treats players like crap, especially rbs. Seattle probably can't afford to pay him with their other contract situations. Very tough situation for them. This is why it will be very hard for them to ever build a dynasty. EmotionallyUnstable
I liked the guy as a player and hope he gets what he deserves. He is a brutal force. But I think he won't get what he's asking for. The demand of RB is too low these days. Maybe if he hits the open market, he could. Wonder if there is any room for a sign and trade?

K D
He needs all the money he can get. He strikes me as the kind of guy that will go completely broke a year after retirement

I'll often say more power to the guy for getting his money but this one strikes me as out of line. He's not underpaid. His ability hasn't changed since he signed the deal. He's only halfway through the deal. Dude is entertaining to watch run but he strikes me as a lot of trouble pretty consistently. This just being the latest unneeded drama. LB3
I doubt he'll be a Seahawk after Russell becomes the highest paid QB in football in a couple years.

On that front, who knows though. He could be great with his money.

I don't know if I was a Seattle fan, I'd want the front office to pay him. But I'm sure he knows they are in a tough spot & his NFL career is ticking down fast. It's crazy how much it sucks to be a running back these days. You have little value and are used like an old pornstar and then tossed away. I hate to say it but it wouldn't surprise me if this was an "I need cash now" issue. On that front, who knows though. He could be great with his money. Great point. I think the Bills did that once with Travis Henry. I saw Lynch just bought a new Lambo so I can't imagine him being great with money. Despite his Berkeley education. BuffaloRebound
I'm surprised more NFL players don't do this. The second a player isn't worth what he's getting paid, he gets cut. Lynch is worth a hell of a lot more to that team this year than $5m.

C.Biscuit97
I read somewhere that he is relatively frugal. Is this about bringing his henny to the bar? Because that was pre contract. He did like candy, and not skittles, when he was here.

He wasn't complaining when he took home a 6m signing bonus and 4m salary just two years ago. It's a 4 year deal- he's two years into. He's essentially tied with forte for the 4th largest RB contract in the league behind Peterson, McCoy and foster. Come on. I've heard that before. But I've also heard about drugs, a decent sized group of friends/family following him to buffalo that i think he supported, cars, grills, legal fees etc.... I won't claim to know one way or the other. I just mentioned it as a "who knows" as it seems like a strange place for him to be holding out. BuffaloRebound
Exactly, you don't like your deal don't sign it. Once the guaranteed money is paid, it essentially isn't a contract anymore. Seattle can walk away from it, but Lynch can't. Surprised players union hasn't pushed NFL to change this.
