And the most amazing part is not a single mention of what is going to happen to the left side of the offensive line.

But hey, it's always all about the QB.

JP obviously has all the tools to become an excellent NFL QB, strong arm, mobility, he's smart, and has a positive cockiness in his attitude.

I think his biggest bridge to climb will be showing patience in the pocket and trusting his blockers(something he couldn't do at Tulane) instead of hitting the panic button and thinking run everytime the defense shows a blitz.

If McGahee can take this offense on his shoulders and be the 1500 yard rusher he is capable of, then I see JP developing quickly and having a very strong second half of next season.

Be careful now this is a G rated board. Let's not go talking about the size of Moby's penis.

J.P. Losman

Height: 6-2

Weight: 217

Position: QB

College: Tulane

Drafted: Pick 22 of the 1st round by Buffalo

Career Notes

Two-time team captain who set the Tulane career record for lowest interception percentage in school history with a mark of 2.73 (27 INTs in 987 attempts) ... Finished his career ranked in the Green Wave all-time Top 10 in eighteen categories, including third in touchdown passes (60), completions (570) and passing efficiency (129.81) ... Also ranks in the Top 10 all-time in Conference USA in ten different passing and total offense records ... Originally began his career at UCLA, transferring to Tulane in 2000, where he served in a reserve role behind Patrick Ramsey (Washington Redskins) for two seasons ... Started 27 of 38 games during his career, completing 570 of 987 passes (57.7%) for 6754 yards, 60 touchdowns and only 27 interceptions ... Gained 241 yards with ten scores on 237 carries (1.0 avg) ... Gained 6995 yards in total offense, an average of 184.1 yards per game.

Analysis

Positives: Has wide shoulders with good muscle development, a tight stomach, and thick arms ... Very nimble and agile in his pass set-up, showing outstanding balance ... Throws a nice, tight spiral with a good spin and a short, quick release ... Has the arm strength to make all the throws (short, long, intermediate) ... Stands tall under pressure and shows good courage taking a hit rather than throwing into traffic ... Gets outstanding placement and accuracy on his short tosses, putting enough zip on the ball to fire away from the defender in tight coverage ... Knows how to put the ball on the receiver's outside shoulder when throwing long, hitting his target in stride ... Can slide and elude the pass rush and has the ability to throw on the move ... Does a very good job with his timing on the mid-range throws, as the receiver rarely has to work back to the ball ... Has the field vision and awareness to look off his primary target to find his second and third options ... Competitive player who can handle hard coaching.

Negatives: Has the nimble feet to avoid the rush, but will take a sack rather than throw the ball away (holds on to the ball too long) ... Vocal type, but still learning what it takes to be a leader (has made steady strides though) ... Throws a nice, tight spiral, but needs to take a little zip off his short tosses ... Shows good judgement most of the time, but has been known to throw into traffic when he can not elude the rush.

Fake Fat:

Are you even CAPABLE of a one-paragraph post? Must every post be a tome? YOu can reduce every post by half and still end up with the same content.

Here's my take on JP:

It sucks that he broke his leg. I believe we would have seen him starting this year at some point. Drew was a non-factor in many of our wins and was a major factor in many of our losses. Clearly, the Bills FO feels the same.

JP looks nimble and eager. He has a great arm and can keep defenses honest with his legs. Watch what McGahee can do when you put Losman in there. his ability to run the draw, the bootleg, and just get out of a tight spot will help us dictate coverages.

It will be harder...much harder...for defenses to simply key on our running game. They've done that to us for years now because Bledsoe is easy to defend. THey say hey: we're gonna stop your run game and force Drew to win this game. In some contests, we ran in spite of this and won. In other games, Drew wasn't able to win so our D and ST had to win for us.

Drew is done. I'd rather not make the playoffs with JP than miss them with Drew.

But I think the Bills WILL make the playoffs...with Losman...next season. 10-6.

Assessment to date:

1.) Fine athlete- scrambling ability is first rate.

2.) Arm strength- I watched during preseason and he can rifle the long "outs!"

3.) Decision making- Tends to be a "football player" first and that gets him in trouble! J.P. needs to gather himself and protect himself so he can survive the

campaign.

4.) Study habits- Reported to be good to excellent by members of the Buffalo staff that evaluates his progress.

5.) Outlook- With an upgraded offensive line, and a stout running game, J.P. Losman can have a winning record in year one as a starter. Defense and special teams alone give him a reasonable chance.

Note: Simply put, this QB is a first round draft pick that both the Packers and Rams had their eye(s) on! Hence, a "few" scouts touted him as "the goods" and that ,to date, is quite fine with me! Let the Jonathan Paul Losman era begin!!!!!
