SRQ_BillsFan Posted July 22, 2014 Posted July 22, 2014 (edited) I am not in Buffalo but don't believe that past scrimmages with the Browns were televised and doubt this one would be. But my question has to do with potential revenue. Would the Bills/Steelers even be allowed by the NFL to attempt to sell the rights to the final scrimmage? Would local stations be interested, would you watch? (Being this is a Bills board I think I know the answer) I wanted to put a "?" at the end of the Topic, but can not figure out how to add it after the fact, my apologies. Got it. (Thanks CM!) K D Posted July 22, 2014 Posted July 22, 2014 i'd watch but the nfl would want to sell the broadcast rights and it would probably be more expensive that it's worth for the network. not as many people would watch as you would think. a lot of fans are "casual" fans that will watch on Sunday but don't really care about Monday through Saturday or what happens at practice, especially during the pre-season
FluffHead Posted July 22, 2014 Posted July 22, 2014 I remember Bills Browns being televised in rochester granted that was at least 12 or so years ago.

yall Posted July 22, 2014 Posted July 22, 2014 Empire used to carry the scrimmages with the Browns. Granted, that was years ago, but I'm not sure the NFL would charge an arm and a leg to have a local station carry it.
PromoTheRobot Posted July 22, 2014 Posted July 22, 2014 WKBW already holds the preseason rights to the Bills. What's the big deal of adding a scrimmage? Git'r dun!
Dorkington Posted July 22, 2014 Posted July 22, 2014 I bet the NFL doesn't allow it, they'd rather charge people $20 to watch it in some streaming service.
BobChalmers Posted July 22, 2014 Posted July 22, 2014 Hasn't NFL Network been showing live coverage from (parts of) scrimmages the past few years?
Mark Vader Posted July 22, 2014 Posted July 22, 2014 Hasn't NFL Network been showing live coverage from (parts of) scrimmages the past few years? The NFL Network showed the entire scrimmage between the Packers & Bills several years ago.
