SlimShady'sSpaceForce Posted June 26, 2017 Posted June 26, 2017 Correct, and by far the most important point. Had she not fallen asleep in a pot induced stupor, maybe she would have let them out. Of course this is not to say she wouldn't have ended up doing more horrible things in the future, pot or no pot. She would have. 1. None. 2. I never said the pot was the initial cause. I just said it didn't help that she got sucked into her addiction and then fell asleep. She sounds like a horrible person to begin with so even if she didn't have to get her fix at that particular time, I'm sure she would have done more horrible things to those poor kids at some point. And the sexting didn't help the other kid did it? But nobody is in this thread defending all things sexting and absolving sexting from any blame for anything ever. And they shouldn't be. And they also shouldn't be here objecting to the notion that pot has negative impacts. But here they are not only objecting, but doubling down on its disease curing miracles. just saying that you could have posted that exact post w/o pot and no one would argue the point.
ExiledInIllinois Posted June 26, 2017 Posted June 26, 2017 I have to side with the anti-dopers on this. Doesn't mean I am against it. People's standards do slip and they "chill" just a little too much and @ the wrong time. Now mix in the chronic and we got real problems. Aren't people lazy enough? Looking for one crutch too many?
4merper4mer Posted June 26, 2017 Posted June 26, 2017 just saying that you could have posted that exact post w/o pot and no one would argue the point. But once pot is introduced it must be defended at all costs? I suppose I shouldn't be surprised in a thread dedicated to the notion that pot cures all diseases.
Tiberius Posted June 26, 2017 Posted June 26, 2017 But once pot is introduced it must be defended at all costs? I suppose I shouldn't be surprised in a thread dedicated to the notion that pot cures all diseases. You pretty much brought up a red herring. Don't cry when people point that out to you
4merper4mer Posted June 26, 2017 Posted June 26, 2017 You pretty much brought up a red herring. Don't cry when people point that out to you LOL, do you mean red hair ring?
SlimShady'sSpaceForce Posted June 27, 2017 Posted June 27, 2017 But once pot is introduced it must be defended at all costs? I suppose I shouldn't be surprised in a thread dedicated to the notion that pot cures all diseases. Death Cures all diseases.
Joe Miner Posted June 27, 2017 Posted June 27, 2017 Death Cures all diseases. According to this thread pot does that. Are you saying pot = death?
SlimShady'sSpaceForce Posted June 27, 2017 Posted June 27, 2017 According to this thread pot does that. Are you saying pot = death? Nothing is a cure all but death. Pot has many medicinal qualities. To deny it is silly. Would you rather take opioids and become part of the epidemic where people are dying in droves? I'll take my chances with a natural herb than a pharmaceutical made in a lab.
Chef Jim Posted June 28, 2017 Posted June 28, 2017 I highly doubt it. pun intended. http://www.cbsnews.com/news/medical-marijuana-laws-teen-pot-smoking/ The study, published in The Lancet Psychiatry journal, looked at data from surveys of over a million teens on marijuana use between 1991 and 2014. The researchers, led by Dr. Deborah Hasin, a professor of epidemiology at Columbia University Medical Center, found that although more teens did use marijuana in 21 of the states where medical marijuana laws were approved, the rate of use did not increase after the laws were passed. Teens?? The study was with teens? Who the !@#$ in talking teens? I'm talking dudes my age that smoked 40 years ago but have not since for one reason and on reason only. It was illegal. The number of boomers that will start smoking again once it becomes legal will skyrocket. Guaranteed.

Chef Jim Posted June 28, 2017 Posted June 28, 2017 Yeah, but they only have a good 20 years left, if that. Making sense as usual.
SlimShady'sSpaceForce Posted June 28, 2017 Posted June 28, 2017 (edited) Teens?? The study was with teens? Who the !@#$ in talking teens? The number of boomers that will start smoking again once it becomes legal will skyrocket. Guaranteed. Sorry Chef, but that's funny. People do "illegal" things all the time. Today's digital world its texting, sexting, and some states using a cell phone while driving. There is jaywalking, rolling through stop signs, running red lights, speeding, aggressive driving etc If you have a wish or "desire" to smoke and you can get it legal or not people will smoke it. There won't be like turning on a switch opening a flood gate. Will the #'s of admitted smokers go up. I'm sure it will as the #'s already indicate the rate of use. wrt teens, Wasn't the point about driving incidents? Yeah, but they only have a good 20 years left, if that. Making sense as usual. I think he's indicating that a 60 year old may have 20 years remaining. Well, unless pot cures all. Edited June 28, 2017 by ShadyBillsFan
unbillievable Posted June 28, 2017 Posted June 28, 2017 Instead of a healthcare mandate, maybe we should force people to buy pot instead?
bbb Posted June 28, 2017 Posted June 28, 2017 Instead of a healthcare mandate, maybe we should force people to buy pot instead? Problem solved!
SlimShady'sSpaceForce Posted June 29, 2017 Posted June 29, 2017 Instead of a healthcare mandate, maybe we should force people to buy pot instead? Problem solved! I promise a pound of pot in every garage!

I'm saying just the opposite. People don't do certain things because they're illegal and if the legal roadblock was removed they would be more inclined to do it. And something that is fun but could also lose you your job typically follows that rule more than running stop signs. And to your point about teens and driving incidents. So boomers don't drive?
B-Man Posted June 30, 2017 Posted June 30, 2017 SURVEY: Pain patients overwhelmingly prefer medical marijuana over opioids.
unbillievable Posted June 30, 2017 Posted June 30, 2017 SURVEY: Pain patients overwhelmingly prefer medical marijuana over opioids. I wonder how the survey would go if they include Meth, Cocaine, Opium, Heroine, and Ecstasy into the poll.
row_33 Posted June 30, 2017 Posted June 30, 2017 I doubt pot would do much if you needed morphine or heroin or something stronger.
GoBills808 Posted June 30, 2017 Posted June 30, 2017 I doubt pot would do much if you needed morphine or heroin or something stronger. You'd be wrong. https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC3728280/
