Doubts? Why have doubts?

Here, this will make you forget all about that article

So you're using a spoof "article" to tout the benefits of medical marijuana? Sounds like something a stoner would do.

Oh and a lot of good the marijuana did for Bob Marley's cancer.

I would like to see the cost breakdown for crack and meth as well.

Right now, there is a weed bubble that pushes the price up. When it bursts, I expect a run on more stable commodities, like alcohol.

I'd like to see a comparison between how much they spend on pot and how much the government spends in enforcing the laws against it. What a waste!

You do realize that they're talking about money spent on weed in states that have legalized it, right?

Neither of those drugs are legal, and both are far cheaper than legal marijuana to purchase. I'm not sure what point you're trying to make with this comment.

I know many patients and have read on medical cannabis boards about people cutting their vicodins, their sleep aids, their muscle relaxers, their diabetes medication, their epilepsy medication, their blood pressure medication, etc.

So, yes, it has cut into the pill manufacturers in states that have legalized. There are other pharma companies such as GW Pharmaceuticals that are poised to explode in value if and when cannabis based medicines take off.

My feeling is that although cannabis based medicines will be available from many sources, medical insurance will cause people to gravitate toward buying from FDA approved sources such as GW Pharma.

This stock has drifted lower over the past year but got a big pop yesterday with phase 3 trial results for its cannabis based medicine

From the Article:

Shares of British drugmaker GW Pharmaceuticals (GWPH) more than doubled Monday after the company’s marijuana-based drug succeeded in a late-stage trial against a rare form of epilepsy.

You can post all day about how it's a wonder drug being suppressed by "Big Pharma," but until its benefits are proven to be worth the side effects, I won't buy it.

There isn't any because it's a schedule 1 drug and to be able to do research on how it works or can help (if it can) can't even be studied. Rand Paul, Cory Booker, and Kirsten Gillibrand have a bill introduced March 10, 2015 to change it to schedule 2 and some other thing SO it can be studied but it's stuck in committee for $ome unknown reason.

It would also allow the VA to prescribe it to veterans as it does help some with PTSD.

I know all this because I watched a program on Vice, a new channel I found on DirectTV. On the show Weediquette they had an episode called "Stoned Vets". It also chronicles a doctor who wants to study it and all the hoops she has to go through to be able to test it. Still hasnt been able to yet. Watch it if you get the chance.

That darn libertarian leaning court!

The Supreme Court's decision today to toss out a lawsuit that could have brought Colorado's legal marijuana boom to a screeching halt hasn't deterred opponents of the national legalization effort.

Already, the plaintiffs and their supporters are looking to regroup. "The Court’s decision does not bar additional challenges to Colorado’s scheme in federal district court,” said Nebraska Attorney General Doug Peterson in a statement.

Oklahoma and Nebraska asked the Supreme Court to hear a challenge to Colorado's marijuana legalization framework, saying that the state's legalization regime was causing marijuana to flow across the borders into their own states, creating law enforcement headaches.

But by a 6-2 majority, the Supreme Court declined to hear the case, without comment.

In a statement, Peterson's office said it would work with Oklahoma and other states "to determine the best next steps toward vindicating the rule of law."

Pennsylvania is getting closer to being the 24th medical state but they are not there yet.

But after this week the legislature won’t be back until April, and if the medical marijuana bill is further amended in the Senate, a spokesman for the House majority leader says he can’t promise that the House will take it up again.

The whole medical marijuana thing is a joke. I've done a good job documenting the process I went through when I met the "nurse" and "doctor". It's just a huge money grab.
